2-3 Million is ok for Joker, solid signing.

My oh my! Not sure all blueshirts will be happy with this if it´s correct. However.. Give him til Christmas, if he doesn´t perform well enough.. Trade him...

Not sure how I feel about this personally... I´m past his penalty miss, but he better prove us wrong with 150% every freaking game!

Very confusing given the OP's limited English. This seems a lot more like a statement of what he, or perhaps Olli, would like to see happen rather than a rumor of an actual signing.

Certainly, it would be hard to argue with that price, but frankly Ijust don't think Olli is part of the long-term solution here at ANY price.

Hopefully not true. Wouldn´t like the re-signing of Olli. Better spend the ca$h in another one...

Loved this line, 'sather want to keep olli`s new york.'

But onto the possible signing... Could be a sign that Sather is planning on staying out of the FA buying and running with the kids and some 'place-holders' Ala post lockout? Or is that just wishful thinking?

$2-3m could be spent much worse than on a 50+ point player, assuming the deal was short term (1-3 years).

I certainly wouldn't celebrate the move, but it wouldn't be a bad deal. Certainly better than going long-term on a second-tier UFA (Volchenkov, etc.).

As long as it's a 1 year deal I'm happy with it. It's not like he's taking away top-6 PT from a young guy.

Yea, I think I'd take another year or two of Olli on the cheap over handing out a gigantic contract to a Marleau or Plekanec.

I honestly love the signing and I don't see how we can complain. It's a lot less than before and he likes New York. He is still a 50+ point player, but those are hard to come by. Original poster better not lie.

This would be absolutely horrible. Get rid of Jokinen, we don't need this bum. He's a loser who's never won a thing in his career.

I would take him at 1.5 mil for 1 year and give him a last chance to prove he is a good player in the NHL.

2.5 Mill for Ollie is an excellent deal. Especially if it's a one year deal that keeps him motivated.

This sounds almost too good to be true.

Yet you rock his avatar?

2 mill for a guy with Ollie potential is a very good deal. You want to be competitive AND have $$$ left to upgrade somewhere else/sign our own rfa, this is a viable way to help get there

If true, and for $2.5m or less on a one year deal, I'm completely on board... he had better make up for that shoot out, though...

If it's btw 2-3 mill for 1-2 years then it's a pretty good signing. Honestly, he'd be excellent secondary scoring on most teams. Our problem is that we don't have any primary scoring...

Yeah I think people need to hold on and wait and see if this is true... this would certainly be the strangest way I've first gotten news of a signing.

Without a link, and as misleading as the thread title is, I'm going to have to close this.

Tontukkani, please PM more details to me or one of the other mods and we will consider reopening.
