Puck Flipping

I was wondering if any of you could post a video on how to flip the puck up really high. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'm referring to when a penalty killer flips the puck down to the other zone. It would be a great help if anyone has advice.

A flip dump?

I don't have the space to demonstrate that, but it's not too difficult. Do a quick toe-drag towards you. As the puck is coming towards you flick your wrist while rolling the puck from heel to toe, and follow through high.

I can flip the puck over the glass from 2 feet away but for some reason I have yet to learn how to dump it like that.

Cup the puck
Dip the front shoulder
Open the blade way up
Snap your wrists to flick it up in the air

Basically you're trying to shovel it straight up in the air.

I can't even really explain how to do this because of how simple and fundamental it is. I can't imagine a player who can go top shelf on at least a wrist shot but can't do this. I can definitely do it backhand or forehand and it the roof in the rink if I wanted to. If you can lift a wrist shot all the way to the top shelf you're just basically doing the same but opening the blade more, following through higher and not putting as much "oomph" into it.

Weird thing is, I also have problems with this one, but only on the forehand. For me, backhanding it like that is no problem at all, I can do it unconsciously.

Yeah, I can do this backhanded with no problem but forehanded not so much.

Put the puck on the back hand move the puck to forehand as ur catching it forehand cup and scoop it up really fast almost the same type of shot you would make if you are really close to the net and you need to roof it up high.

having the puck very forward in your stance really helps get the blade open as well.

this is one of those things that is very easy to do in practice but not so much in a game.

Usually players tend to flip the puck to alleviate intense pressure in the defensive zone. It's harder to flip a puck all the way down the ice like the pros do when you have what feels like a microsecond to pull it off.

This is something rarely taught as it's an improper way to shoot. However, in some situations it can be useful.

Like some others said, open up the face of your stick. You don't necessarily have to pull the puck towards you, I start the puck resting against my blade. Scoop underneath the puck as you bring your stick up(forward and up).

And the most important thing is gradually increase the speed of your blade. If you try to fling your stick up too quickly, the puck will just slide off. Start slowly and increase your speed as the puck sits up on your stick.

Hit the ice with an open blade on your backhand (kind of like a shovel) and then scoop under the puck and follow through high.
