Get Phoenix an Afforable Number One Center, Proposals Here.

To:
Radim Vrbata
22nd overall

To:
Stephen Weiss
50th pick overall

Florida gets another 1st round pick and a scoring winger, Phoenix gets a good and affordable number one center. Florida is stocked with picks in the first two rounds, and Phoenix is left with virtually none after the 2nd round, so this gets Phoenix a mid draft pick as well.

EDIT: I know some of you are comfortable with the idea od Wolski going to center, but I just think that it may be too risky to move him from his comfortable position that he has been doing well in (see Peter Mueller) and I'm not sure that he is exactly what we need taking a majority of our faceoffs (see Olli Jokinen)

EDIT 2.0: I am in NO WAY comparing Jokinen or Mueller to Wolski

The rest of the hockey remains weary of the SW. But hey, there is some good talent there, you can see it. Weiss could very well help us down the middle.

Then a month into the season DM can trade Gistedt for Vrbata and a 2011 1st.

I was thinking a 2013 7th.

Turris. Until then, patience.

No Deal! Vrbata is one of our best scorers especially in the shootout. Im willing to part ways more with nokie and vandy as part of a bucket of pucks package

I think that DM goes out and finds another long in the tooth veteran center (ala Lang) as a stop gap until Turris is ready. The names that immediately spring to mind are Jason Arnott, Matt Cullen or Brendan Morrison.

I believe Arnott has 1 year left on his contract and might be available at a decent cost.

A total wild card could be someone like Modano. Would he even consider playing for another Franchise? If the Stars are not planning on bringing him back and by all accounts that appears to be rather likely, maybe Tippett can persuade him to coming over if he wants to play another season.

If they target someone slightly younger in FA, you can expect it to be the likes of Comrie or Wellwood

Stephen Weiss is a good center, but to be the number one guy and going up against Gtezlaf, Kopitar or Sedin on a nightly basis he would get demolished.

Good center, better fit as a number two C.

Of course I've been pumping K turris' tires a bit, and my own argument here works against Kyle as well...

I think PHX could afford Tyler Seguin's contract! lol...

I like that deal but I'm not sure Tallon would.

Guessing you meant to say "wary"? Which is justified based on some recent SE expatriates not doing so well on their new clubs.

Weary works too, does it not?

"3 : having one's patience, tolerance, or pleasure exhausted" would describe the Jokinen experiment.

God I love HF. One dork with a grammar police badge comes in then another comes in to refute the previous grammar dork.

Weiss has a heart and plays tough minutes ala Hanzal. He'd do fine.
