I actually used to play softball with Schneider. Was supposed to be playing with Schneider, Odelein and Keane but the latter two never showed. Played something like half our season with Schneider. He played second base and I was catcher. It was quite interesting throwing base stealers out - me calling an outside pitch to gun the ball over to him to tag them out. Our positions made it such that we'd talk a lot. Was fun having beers with him after games. Nice guy.

My neighbor used to work for a guy who made sports apparel - caps, shirts, etc. They decided to form a team, asked me to play and during that season they signed some sort of merchandising deal with the Canadiens and in the deal, Schneider, Keane and Odelein would make appearances wearing their stuff. Long story short: Mathieu ended playing with us something like half the season.

I've met more players than I can remember... when I was a kid, the first player I remember meeting was Ryan Walter at some department store in fairview (can't remember the name of the store, though)

Off the top of my head, I've met Dick Irvin jr. a few times around Pointe-Claire - really, really nice guy. Gainey, Carbonneau, Roy, Theodore, Shutt, Zednik, Rivet, Saku, Kovalev, Begin, Souray, Hainsey, Ward, Richer, Houle, Beliveau, Michaud, Subban, Kovalev, Markov, Perezhogin, A. Kostitsyn, G.Murray... does Jaime Rivers count?? Or Claude Julien? hehe! More that I'm forgetting.

Went to high school with Lecavalier and Worrell.

I think my favorite would be Odelein at a meet and greet at a paint store on Des Sources back in the early '90's. He's a great guy, too.

Edit: I used to cut grass for Andreas Dackell and a guy that played for Washington... Jason Doig? Big guy! Actually, I met Sundstrom in Dackell's backyard once, too. Dackell and his family were awesome and really nice... but Sundstrom was a rock star.

The best I can do is my brother who talked to Stevie Y on his phone, he was calling to get Star Choice and wanted all the Canadian channels. My brother asked him a couple of questions while helping him involving some rumors.

For me Zednik and Marcel Hossa at the old Paramount movie theater. Hossa had huge hands and both were really nice.

Eric Fichaud and Ian Laperriere at Colossus in Laval. Didnt talk to them though.

Talked a bit with Ronald Corey and his daugther on Maisonneuve.

How did Lecavalier go to English public school? That should be illegal under Quebec's World Famous Language Law Bill 101. Lecavalier's parents are French, I'm assuming they went to French school.

My old gf had a friend from Ottawa who claimed that Steve Yzerman had been her boyfriend and asked her to marry him and she refused. That was when they were both in their early 20s. This girl was nice looking but totally nuts, Stevie dodged a bullet on this one.

I live 2 blocks away from St-Laurent bvld, and I saw Saku Koivu and Rivet near Buena Note; they were waiting for Souray to get ouf his car.

Man, Saku is tiny.

Saw Lapierre walking alone on Ste-Catherine last September, glued to his cell; nobody reacted

Got some autographs from JS Giguere, Scott Nierdermeyer, Souray and Mike Babcock during the 2009 All-Star weekend.

Saw Niedermeyer again earlier this year during the Olympic champs parade held in MTL

I met Higgins and Garth Murray at the Simon's downtown, 3-4 years ago. They were shopping for winter coats haha!

My buddy met Gomez and Cammalleri end of July/beginning of August last year. IT was their 2nd day in Montreal!

I met Higgins last year on st-paddy's day. He was sober. I said hi, wished him luck. It seemed like he likes the Habs.

O'Byrne and Pyatt at Tokyo (that place is a ****hole, I dunno why I went).

The Kostitsyn's like every night I go out. After the whole "Andrei Kostitsyn" thing (where the entire team said "Je suis ..." and he didn't) at the beginning of season, I bump into him (he's drunk) and I YELL out "HAHA JE SUIS ANDREI KOSTITSYN!!"

Mike Ribeiro was/is my neighbor. He's a great guy and a complete athlete.

Just last night I was out for my birthday and around 1 or 2 am, in walks Hal Gill. We were at Burgundy Lion. The guy is freaking gigantic. It looked like he was standing up at the bar but he was actually sitting down.
