The 2nd movies biggest error (aside from replacing Paul W.S. Anderson); killing off Johnny Cage. So what does this movie do? Kills off Johnny Cage. Stupid.
Also, screw this movie. Paul W.S. Anderson (director of the first film), has stated that he would love to make a second Mortal Kombat film. His movies aren't masterpieces, but they are all good fun. His most recent efforts like Resident Evil and Death Race we're both good action movies, Resident Evil more story driven.
Give Paul W.S. Anderson his chance and I'm sure we'll see a good action movie (with good CGI for Goro). Give this movie a chance and it sure will **** off a lot of people, myself included.
On the other hand, this looks like a solid, solid, solid movie .... IF it wasn't given the Mortal Kombat name. Why not make this movie as something with a little different story, as then I'm sure it'd do pretty well. Giving it the Mortal Kombat name, but making it nothing like Mortal Kombat is not a good move. It reminds me of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within .. which was a decent movie, but really lost points because it had the Final Fantasy name.
