RSL Playoffs - Habs prospects and regulars

RSL playoffs start tomorrow and Saturday with the first two games of the quarter finals. It will be intersting to follow the Habs who are taking part in the series. Markov, Perezhogin and Grabovsky all had an excellent season and it will be interesting to see how much ice-time Korneev and Emelin get. There are also a few guys that are still Hab property but that will probably never come back to North America: Tarasov had a good year with Novokuznetsk Metallurg (1.84gaa - 92.48sv%). Buturlin had a decent first half with Lada before having major problems scoring in the second half (no goals in the last 20g).

Here are the match ups:

Lada (Emelin-Buturlin) - Metallurg Nk. (Tarasov)
Mettalurg Mg. - Avangard (Perezhogin)
Dynamo (Markov) - Neftkhimik (Grabovsky)
AK Bars (Korneev-Kovalev) - Yaroslavl

Interesting. Here's Montreal's chance to see RSL games without having to wait for tapes to come in by the mail!

I've got someone taping the playoff games. Although I'm guessing Yemelin won't play. I really just want to see Grabovsky, since I've got a lot of Perezhogin and Korneev games already.

There's also Andrei Kruchinin who plays for Lada. He was our next pick after Markov in '98.
