Perfect timing with the Stanley Cup just being awarded!

Obviously the World CUp is huge here! (of course Soccer in general is)

Trivia of the day: I actually once played soccer with one player of the German team (Serdar Tasci) for two years, and played against a few others! Well, makes you a bit sad that with a bit more luck and perseverence it could've been you in South Africa now

Go USA, Australia, Germany, and Japan!

But I'll walk away happy if Italy falls flat on their face. It's called soccer, not theater.

Got a TV right in front of me at work, very well set up.

I usually root for the USA, Italy, and any crazy underdog as it's always fun to see a team like Ghana or Paraguay upset a powerhouse like Germany or France. Does anyone know why teams like Egypt or Russia aren't in the World Cup but freaking North Korea is? They are the only team I want to see get pummeled, those poor malnourished hobbits. There will be no censoring that embarrassment.

Can't wait for it go USA, and since Poland and Ireland didn't make it I got some German heritage so I will go for them. Damn you Henry with that hand ball killing Ireland's chance.

Russia and Egypt have to go through the European and African qualifying groupings. North Korea is in the Asian qualifying group. Much tougher road to qualify in the Euro/African groups compared to the Asian group. Look at a team like New Zealand. They are in the Oceania group. They had to get through such powerhouses as Fiji, New Caledonia, and Vanuatu to qualify. If they had to go through the European qualifying group they wouldn't stand a chance. The USA would most likely have a tough time qualifying through the European group. Fortunately we are in CONCACAF which makes qualifying much easier every world cup.

To be fair, they also had to play powerhouse Bahrain in a two-game play-off to qualify

Always love to watch Spain, but of course concentrating on England. We'll fall on our face as usual though.

USA is winning it all. Cant see us conceding a goal in this tournament. God help the rest of the world containing Jozy Altidore.

I'll be rooting for the US as always but you guys shouldn't be expecting anything out of the team. If it goes far i know i'll get flamed but they don't really deserve to go far. They don't play good soccer. It's just Tim Howard making amazing save after amazing save to keep the US in it.

Watch how they play. The don't have a lot of continuity with their passes, their defense is really shaky, and their midfielders and strikers are all ball hogs. It's always a nail biting game when watching the US play. I want them to win so badly but they usually don't deserve to win. Howard bails them out so much. Here's to hoping that their coach actually taught them how to pass and play good defense. Donovan and Altidoire! So excited for this World Cup.

Anyway. Rooting for US, Spain, and France... in that order...

For some reason I have such a strong feeling that the US is going to beat England Saturday, and make a lot of noise in this tournament, kind of like they did in the Hockey at the Olympics this year...

I don't know, I'm just feeling it.

Lucky for me, I'm working 10-6 on Saturday, if anyone ruins the game for me I'm going to lose it.

At least they don't dive all over the field and whine like little babies. I'm looking at you Italy.
