This will never happen, Boston needs to shed salary. Lots of salary.

Wikipedia sucks because it points out that he has had 2 concussions. One that kept him out for quite a while.

Are you saying that you don't care about his concussions? Or that you think his head injury risk is outweighed by his skill?

Any GM that picks this guy up is concerned about his head. Multiple concussions absolutely lessens his trade value.

On the 3rd line we have Zeus so there is no place for Stoll right now and I am sure people want Zeus a lot more than Stoll on that 3rd line. IMO, Stoll only brings face-offs and a shot(if put on net which was unlikely this last season). That is all....
He brings more than that, in that he is gritty, and very good back checker, but honestly he only really brings about 2/5's of a shot, which is my estimation of the frequency his shots are actually put on net.

But I would take that deal in a New York minute. I just don't believe anyone in Boston is that naive. Of course if they were, could you say "Hello Ilya? I knew you could!"

Stoll is a decent 2nd line center & an elite 3rd line center. He has the intangibles that most of you fail to acknowledge that wins championships. PK,PP, Faceoffs, grit, heart, skill. It is not all about scoring. Stoll stays & I bet DL feels the same way.

The kings do, however, need a 1a/1b center. And no, Schenn is not that guy...yet. Maybe in the next 2 years, but definitely not this year.

Bruins fan here. As a huge Bergeron fan, I find it pretty funny that you guys bag on Stoll so much. Bergeron and Stoll play a very similar game and had almost identical numbers this season, but Bergy made over 1 million more. Bruins fans absolutely love Bergeron but a lot of that is nostalgia. He's kind of like the Nomar Garciaparra of the Bruins. Just a total fan-favorite, and his injury woes have only endeared him to fans more.

He went from being a 70 point player to a 50 point player. This was the first season since his concussion where he really looked like his old self, but he's still missing a certain something that he used to have. He doesn't have the same finish that he had before. He basically was Mike Richards (their numbers in their first few seasons are nearly identical) before the concussion and Jarret Stoll after. Now he still probably has a little more skill than Stoll and more upside since he's still pretty young, but I don't know if he'll ever be a 70 point guy again. Julien uses him a lot in a defensive role and his system is all about defense, so maybe Bergeron would get more chances on a different team.

Anyway, you can tell I'm probably a little biased, so I wouldn't trade Bergeron for the world. With that said if I were to take emotion out of it, and look at if from a Kings perspective, I honestly don't think Bergeron is the upgrade over Stoll that many of you think he'd be. I mean...he could be...he is still a very good playmaker, but I think for the money you're better off just keeping Stoll.

Also, the Bruins couldn't afford to take back both SToll and Willams' salary. They do need scoring and Williams might help with that, but they already have a similar player in Sturm.

Anyway, that's my take. I just thought it was funny how Bruins fans maybe overrate Bergeron a little while Kings fans underrate Stoll when in reality they are both pretty close.

Thank you for that. I don't get the Stoll bashing on this board either, but with Jones gone, the fans need someone to pick on. If Stoll is moved, Brown will become the new whipping boy around here.

Doughty, Johnson, Scuderi, Greene, Teubert, Hickey, Voinov...............
i would consider this a a great defense corpse.........

If a team just depends on Jared Stoll playing defensive this team has to fire the GM and the coaching staff instantly...........

My point is another..........
We have a great defense and one or two tremendous goalies........
What's missing is the finess and talent to win a cup.

You can have all the worlds heart, grit, identity and the little things........
as long as no one is able to put a puck into the net you will never win the cup.

Don't you think there is a reason for no 5vs5 scoring beside the coach ?????

watch our lineup.............

??? - Kopitar - ???/Williams
Smyth - ???/Stoll - Brown
Parse - Handzus - Simmonds
??? - ???/Richardson - ???

compare that to our defense
Dougthy - Greene
Scuderi - Johnson
Martinez/Hickey/Teubert/Voinov/UFA

And now tell me.................. why the **** do we need more
grit,heart and Identity?????

please compare the lineup to the lineup of the cup winners...... i know it's new to most of us..... but the sense of a NHL franchise is winning the Stanley Cup

All of the winners have an a/b punch on center position........
The coaching style of board Rugby isn't helping either

It isn't so much of a Stoll bashing from my pov anyways but just that he's not quite the ideal 2 center. If he was a 3, I'd be fine with that but unfortunately, that's not the case.

Exactly.....................

The point is he is similar to Handzus but Handzus has a NTC...............
Nobody can affort to pay 2 similar players and that makes Stoll 1st choice to trade away... that's it

agreed and I believe Stoll has some real trade value and that's why his name comes up in many trade proposals.
