Good, he's one guy I want to see a lot more of. Always had a ton of respect for his non quit work ethic.

I love the English language. When I first read this thread title, I thought it was a statement about how the club was close (in the heart) to a "quitting" Derek MacKenzie

Hope they do re-sign him. May not ever be a regular NHLer, but he has always been a good fill in, and also adds a good veteran presence to our AHL affiliate.

Good move, he's always a serviceable callup when somebody goes down.

Sweet. I know he's a great fit in the AHL, but I trust him more than anyone currently in the system as a 4th line center.

would love to see a 4th line of Murray - Mackenzie - Dorsett

notice no Boll...maybe just me, but I don't see him coming back...that line tho is energy, grit, and a lil bit of skill...I am a fan...

That would be very nice indeed, especially the no Boll thing, I really don't have much love for Boll or Blunden

Agreed, Dorsett is good enough to where we don't need Boll.

I'd love to see Matt Calvert force his way into the fourth line picture. We can use some new blood and youthful energy.

Welcome back, DMac!

Speaking of "Macs", can we find Craig MacDonald & sign him again? He was a decent callup for us in 08-09 as well.

Interesting that just a few years ago, Boll made Shelley expendable. Now the shoe's on the other foot thanks to Dors.

i think calvert will stay in Springfield, prob be a callup for injuries etc, but I hope he can break in on the 2nd line quickly...I see him with more upside and would like him to be ready to be up and stay up....not be a tweener...I think some of our issue has always been that...bringing a guy up before they're ready...

Thing with Dorsett is he seemed a little too injury prone this last season. I'd stick with Boll just in case, but it would be nice to be able to send him down sometimes (not that he'd go for it, though.)

I just think we wanted to have more Derek/Dericks than any other team in the league.

And this team has had one too many DMac's in it's history...

Based on how he plays when he's up here, I hope MacKenzie makes the squad. Granted we now have Kana on a one-way, but he Derek has come to play when he's here and I have a soft spot for determined older guys.

I only recall fight-related hand injuries... oh and when he almost got boarded through the glass
