right move Bergfors, one of our best players, down to the 3rd line for someone less talented in Versteeg

good thing none of those things are happening

I'd say ATM Versteeg > Bergfors. Down the line I see Berg becoming a better player, but Versteeg is no scrub. Plays with fire, puts the puck in the net and seems like a good character guy. Which should help after the emotional sideshow we got this year.

Just curious what makes Bergfors more talented then Versteeg?

Versteeg last year at same age that Bergfors was this year put up a better season and was runner up for Calder

This year he played on our shutdown line at RW and helped shutdown the Sedin line , The Thornton Line and in this finals so far the Richards line

I will admit Bergfors I have seen limited play from but I am fairly confident Versteeg is a much better defensive player from what I have seen

I never said Versteeg was a bad player. I just think he isn't better than Bergfors nor should take time away from him. And no way in hell should we go back to catering to players like we did with Kovalchuk. I don't care if God signed with us, the 1st line should be Bergfors-Antropov-Little/Afinogenov. I don't see how Versteeg would come and split that up.

If we signed Marleau or hell even acquired Spezza, I wouldn't want either breaking up the line we had of 18-80-10/61 or either being on the first line over Antropov.
