appearently on the team990 one of the hosts said Tampa Was making a strong pitch for Price, one of his sources was the 4th period, and said that Tampa is putting a very strong enticing package.
Anyone hear this? if its Price for St.Louis no ****ing way.
Yea, because of 1 year in Hamilton with Desjardins and Sanford..he knows Price and Halak better then anyone else
No.
Boucher and his philosophy is that there are 24 personalities on a team, so he has to coach 24 ways. Coaching one way isn't successful, and he (Boucher) coaches one-on-one and as a team.
Boucher knows he can work with Price and get the best out of this player.
When some notiable writers are suggesting that the Flyers need to offer Carter and a pick, I think the pick from Tampa isn't enough.
Carey Price - G
Montreal's 1st rounder 27th overall
Tampa Bay 1st Rounder 6th overall
Carter Ashton - RW
Dustin Tokarski - G
If TBL offered this, theres no doubt in my mind Habs would jump on it.
could habs add something to get tampas 2nd pick as well?
i doubt that TBL would like to give this up but if they wouldnt want to part with Ashton, i wouldnt mind Downie, a Downie/Ashton size/type of guy is what habs need
i see this trade benefiting both sides habs could grab Sheahan at 6th to play with ashton and draft Jared Knight or Beau Bennet in 2nd round which would be great too see
It's worth noting that Yzerman comes from the Detroit school of franchise-building. This philosophy places less emphasis on netminding than other positions.
That said, it doesn't preclude Yzerman from wanting to go against the grain of this perspective, but it's worth having in mind when considering the validity of such rumours.
IMO, it's more than likely that TB in itself is a news-worthy item & the Price/Halak is a news-worthy item, so combine them to make a persistent news-worthy item. Gets the press through another week before draft day/free agency comes.

Dont get me wrong here..i have no doubt that Boucher can work with Price (and i'm not surprised by T.B interest) but i honestly think that the same can be said about Halak (this is not a shot at Price or Halak)
Oh sure, I guess you're a fan of keeping them both, and hoping they both improve next year going forward, when one gets next to no playoffs/gamebreaking experience?
One thing the Habs should do is steal Zenon Konopka from the Lightning and the UFA market. Guy is tough as nails, annoying as anyone is the league, will fight and can keep up decently with the pace. I've got a soft spot for former Ottawa 67's too, and many coming from that system with Brian Kilrea know how to play hockey the right way. It'd be a slam dunk in my opinion, even if it's just a minor move in the grand scheme of things.
Pas rapport to the thread, I know, just thought of it with the Lightning and all.

Thanks!
It's hilarious how some people here assume Price still has more unfulfilled potential than Halak. At this point, nobody on this forum knows for sure who'll end up being better. Halak would benefit from Boucher's teaching just as much as Price would.

TB is weak in the net
Plus, Stevie Y wouldnt have won his cups without great goaltending
It makes a lot of sense, and I would say yes if the main piece is Downie or the 1st. I don't think Price is worth their 1st straight up, but we could give them a mid level prospect or something like that (SK?).
I don't want Malone. Yes, he would be a good fit with the team, but his contract is too loud and he's getting old. I'd prefer Downie who is ****ing gritty, is younger and has more talent/potential.
