André Tourigny interested in coaching Hamilton Bulldogs

http://www.rds.ca/bulldogs/chroniques/300771.html

Might be just stating the obvious. Anyone who knows this coach have any comments? I personally would rather have him than Vincent as he's going to be behind the Canadian bench at the WJC.

Rouyn coach. Demands work ethic and more work. Aggressive forecheck and work.

Did I mention work?

No. Hes good with his players. All of them. His teams are 'teams'; well oiled machines that make you want to give up. All for one.

something I posted in another thread about this matter

he is coach and GM and hes been doing a great job with the team..he's in charge since like 7 years and he did manged to get us to the president cup final..only to loose against Gatineau ( or shall I say Claude Giroux)..

he is very good with young players..he wants hard working player and he really recognize the importance of playing physical and intense..thats what he preach and he did help many of our young player to progress and to buy into his system..

some players like MA Bourdon really progressed a lot in Rouyn..Alex Emond was also a Tourigny player..Berube (not the most skilled but works at 100% all the time)..

Gauthier Leduc also had a very good season..tourigny is not affraid to put young players on the ice if they're doing the job..

only leak he has I think his that every year since he's here we never had a real top goalie in the league..he seems to prefer having a very good team with average goalie..and it kinda bit us this year and 3 years ago when we made it to the final with Gougeon in the net -.-

but in the AHL..you do not pick your roster you just make the best out of it and I think he would be very very able to do it..hes always respected by his players and hes respected by other coachs in the Q..even when he speaks to the referees you can see they have some respect for him..

also Hockey Canada is high on him as he proven many times and in all his coach career that he's a very solid guy who knows where hes going..

What is with this franchise... Everything is backwards. "_________ is interested in working/playing for the Habs." That's not how it works. I'm interested in making lots of money as well. I guess it's better than the Leafs board "Rumor: Burke interested in every player in the league"

No you have your life standards backwards. You see a job (open position) that interests you, you send your CV with a letter of intent stating you are interested. That's how the real world works.

Nothing to do with the team. The medias are looking for who could coach the Bulldogs...and soon, we'll know the name of the new coach.

And Tourigny is really interesting. He seems to be what we need ; a teacher who wants the players to work hard.

Well he seems decent...and he's really young too. It's hard to know for sure, but Boucher may be bigger than he really is because of the media. I mean, he was head coach for two years and he did super well in each year...but it's still a pretty small sample. You need to realize that he isn't god and he's not the only good coach around. Yes we lost him, but we will find someone else...

Local radio mentioned that they (via Tourigny?) expects a request by end of July for an interview as a deadline.

As interesting as this might be, I would be more inclined to have Muller coach in Hamilton to get the head coaching experience.
