shows that nobody, even his beloved edmonton, wanted to give anything for him.
Not at 1.5 mil, but who says for 500K a year he won't get picked up somewhere.
You guys can enjoy your unviolent tea parties, i'll remember Georges as being the 1st Habs in a loooong time who kick some ass when he wanted too. The beatings he gave on May and Shelley were epic for me.

it was fun to watch him beat people down, but he hurt this team way more than he helped. You have to admit that, atleast.

He never wanted to. The only good fight was May, cuz May got boullion, everyone else...worthless. No one cares he fought Shelley, peters or whoever.

Agreed 100%. Then people say Martin doesn't get the new NHL. Oh he does, Enforcers are useless.
Don't let the door hit you in the ass Georges. You were a waste of money and a roster spot. You were too nice a guy for what we needed you for. We need a goon whose going to rip someone's head off and **** down the neck. No more nice goons.
The goals aren't the same, players play more loose, more cheapshots are distributed. Dude, where have you been the last 80 years? Goons have been on the stands in playoff games since the 70's.

The problem is that he was too nice to do what he was paid big bucks to do...ENFORCE, in other words defend his teammates when somebody took liberties. He was too damn fond of his stupid code.
Why did Laraque never lived up to expectation in Montreal? Well if you ask me, injuries to his back and lost of passion for the game came crawling down the last 2 year resulting in a out of shape George and a much slower George and useless on the ice. He was way to big(260lbs) and for a guy thats 6'3, thats way to heavy.
Good luck GL but I dough any team will give you a try out let alone a contract.

It's not over, they just need to be able to play a regular or semi regular shift. Hence why guys like MacIntyre and Fritz don';t have NHL jobs on a regular basis.
What I'd like is to have a Thornton/Orr/Shelley type that can play and fight plus a couple of middleweights in the bottom 6/#5-6 d-men that can handle things if needed like White, Mair, Nystrom etc

I agree with all of that, it's the constant bashing on goons that annoys the heck out of me. I hope we get someone else that's a a better skater. I want a protector on the team, we're still soft up front, playoff run doesn't excuse that. Heck i want one simply for the entertainment factor.
AWESOME!!!! Glad to see that BGL is done in a Habs jersey. He was a huge waste of money. If he would have done the job he was asked to do from the start, he would have been a great addition to the Habs roster, but since he wouldn't fight and protect his teammates....he was let go, which was a great decision by the Habs management.
Now we need to add multiple players who can provide toughness and play 15 minutes a game if needed instead of wasting money on a goon that can't play solid hockey and keep up with the play.
I'm actually kind of sad, because I remember how happy I was when he first signed with us. I'm not sure if it would have made a difference, but it would have been nice to see BGL be able to play for us while being 100% healthy.
Yeah finally our team gets one of the more notable thugs in the NHL and what does he do? Acts like a complete *****. We really could've used a big impact player like that in the playoffs, you know, somebody who would go after a guy like Cooke and make him pay for doing a dirty hit, or this or that, but no, he wanted no part in being worth the money he was paid.
To be honest I think he knew if he fought too much, he wouldn't be able to get as many endorsements due to his face being banged up. Just my personal speculation on the matter, no where has this ever been regarded as fact or stated by any media outlet.
