Kim Johnsson

Is this the best player no one is talking about?

I haven't heard much about his health but when healthy hes a premier puck mover.

Is he healthy, how much will sign for and where will he end up?

Just for the record, as a Canucks fan, hes not exactly what we need but I would take a chance on him for the right $$$.

From what I've heard on these boards he kind of disappeared so it is not clear if he is injured or what, but that's what has been suggested.

Johnsson only played 8 games for Chicago before being diagnosed with what was an apparently pretty serious concussion.

Last I read was that it's very likely that he may call it a career. Which is too bad because I enjoyed his time with the Wild. He was their best defenseman over his tenure here and brought a lot to their defense and transition game.

Yes he got a very serious concussion during the regular season game against Philly. Stan Bowman talked about him a bit in his postseason interview. He was never even well enough to start skating. He didn't say anything about it being career ending, but it sounded very serious so it very well may be.

If he gets better, he will definitely be a quality pickup for some team. If the Hawks can actually move Campbell, I'd love to re-sign Johnsson.

Too bad.

Johnsson is great. I can see him being a great mid-season pick-up for a playoff team.

No idea how much he'd sign for and where. First thing I'd worry about is finding him. No one knows his whereabouts.

As stated before, he suffered a serious concussion in a regular season game in Philly during only his 8th game with the Hawks. He made $4.8 million last season, and if he can even play hockey again, he won't come close to that number again. Kim was in such bad shape that he didn't even make an appearance at the championship parade. A newswriter in Minnesota claimed that he was recovering at his home. He was decent for the Wild and us last season until his serious injury happened. If he does make a return to the NHL, who knows how effective he will ever be again after the concussion he suffered.

Johnsson's career is over

This is his 3rd severe concussion in last 5 years , He couldn't even travel because of it

I am sure the announcement will come later in summer
