Great news, if true. But we need independent confirmation before we can do our collective fist pump on this one - especially since the only source is a tweet that says "Stepan and McDonagh sign with the Rangers".

The fact that it includes Stepan is a bit dubious - he supposedly signed a week ago. Wouldn't McD's signing therefore be enough to warrant its own tweet (not to mention a blog post)...?

Watching those kids on the Hawks in possession of the Stanley Cup has got to be REALLY inspiring.

The headline at rangersblog says McD "MAY" have signed based on the content of that tweet.

Honestly, we were getting more reliable info in the Stepan thread. I'm leaving this tagged as a rumor and adding a question mark to the thread title.

Don't know much about this kid except that I'm glad Gomez no longer speeds through neutral zone and loses the puck for us.

Personally, I miss all the times he'd weakly shoot the puck right into the goalie's chest.

Here's to hoping McD can challenge for a spot in camp. Though that would leave surefire wade in jeopardy of being sent down, and no one would want that...

No, we lose players early all the time, but.... a month ago these guys said they were staying for next year.

I don't think McDonagh ever said he was staying or going

Stepan did say he was going to be back though

I apologize for the tweet about McDonagh, it was a false alarm from someone I knew in Wisconsin. Sincere apologies.
