I was wondering if anyone knows of a low lie tapered blade, preferably a sakic type curve. I'm asking because I want to try to use a longer stick. Does any company make blades in such a config? I can't seem to find any out there. If not, how about a 1piece? Thanks for any input.
Warrior offers the Draper curve in a "4" lie which is probably closer to an Easton 5.
I always found I like a higher lie stick for shooting close to the body but when skating I just roll my wrists over to cup the puck and never have a problem. I'm a pretty decent puck carrier.
I'm going to try using a 1-2" longer stick this summer because of my monkey arms and wide shoulders, using a "standard" length stick (chin in skates) means I'm always trying to put my lower hand about 2/3 to 3/4 the way down the stick, so I need to get the stick a bit longer to flex it more.
So I ordered the warrior draper with lie 4 and unfortunatley I'm a little disappointed. The lie is the exact same as my easton se16 sakic (5.5), so I'm a little confused on what scale warrior is using. Also the blade is in my opinion really heavy. Just my thoughts though.
Easton's really the only company that's consistent...Bauer for some odd reason thinks people can't handle half lies so they round up (i.e. a 5.5 lie P88 is listed at 6 lie). Warrior is all over the map, but the standard 5 lie Draper should be equivalent to the 5.5 lie Sakic, which is why I'm surprised the 4 lie Draper was the same lie as the 5.5 Sakic. It should have been about a 5 lie on the Easton scale.
