how to find Lines that prominent players have played on?

Is there a database of some sort, that can divulge the line combinations that certain prominent players throughout the history of the NHL have played on

and maybe some of the not so prominent players from the last couple years too

I know this isn't exactly what you look for but it's a start for some of the more famous lines.

Hockey Draft Central sometimes includes information about a player's linemates in their profiles but its by no means comprehensive.

If you've got a lot of time on your hands you could use the statistics from hockey reference to give you clues about lines as well.

The trouble with this, is that it's tough to draw the line between a longstanding line like the production line, a line that definitely played together regularly for a short period (say Heatley-Spezza-Alf), guys who skated together sometimes, and guys who played one shift together. And then keeping track of the latter would be a nightmare.

For recent years: http://www.dobberhockey.com/frozenpool_linecombo.php

There's another place I've seen used (to search by player), but apparently I didn't save the link.

This one displays lines by division/team: http://www.hockeyutopia.com/index.ph...id=65&Itemid=5
