Nice piece on Tom Pyatt

Local paper in Thunder Bay has a little piece on Pyatt today. Upshot is he had a fabulous time in the playoffs and really wants to work out a new contract with the Habs. "That's the team I want to play for," he says.

Great article. There's no doubt in my mind, we will give him a new contract!

Taylor-Lapierre-Tommy could prove to be a great 4th line. Taylor has offense in him, but I think they could provide grit, physical play, defense and offense at the same time, all that for decent money.

Than, you have Moen - Moore - UFA on the 3rd line.

Don't forget White. I think he'll begin the season as a Hab.

The guy is very fast (acceleration and top speed), probably the faster of the team. He isn't afraid of taking the checks and seems to have a very good work ethic. I only hope he elevates his offensive level. we saw good flashes last season, I hope he'll improve it. He won't be a top6 player, but I expect him to eventually put something like 30points/season.

Ah.....I love have a local boy on the habs. Hopefully he can follow in Eric Staal, Jordan Staal and Patrick Sharp's footsteps by bringing the Cup to Thunder Bay.

I don't think so. This guy is still young and would have to impress like hell during the camp to stay here. I prefer a guy like Darche who has more experience than him. If we can sign Taylor Pyatt, he would bring us some offencive and grit that we could use on the third line.

Darche is a terrible, terrible hockey player. He's bad in every possible thing. He had a hot streak and some good games, but at some point, you just see why other teams let him go and never gave him a chance. After 2 good performances, the guy forgets what he is primarily and tries fancy stuffs like little behind-the-back crossed passes entering the offensive zone.

He's a terrible player, he's of no use.

There's a reason why, despite having all that experience, darche was still in our farm club most of the year. He's not a good player.

I think with his speed he could be a very good PKer/counter-attack kinda guy, but the question to me is how his finish is. There's plenty of speedy players who can get to the net real fast but don't know what to do once they get there.

He's likely one of these guys that has to play mostly all out every game of the season or he risks being replaced by someone else.

Unlike the talented AKost, who's allowed to play dead for multiple game stretches.

Pyatt is a guy you root for

Expectations are going up a notch though. He'll need to contribute offensively once in a while.

As far as liking to play for the Habs, well how wouldn't he? Coach favorite, the team that gave him his chance, he's clearly welcome here more than he was before. So it's great to hear that he recognize it.

Great throw-in so far.

He's become one of my favourites ever since the playoffs. Really happy we acquired him in that trade with the Rangers last summer.

I agree with this. Tom Pyatt is the type of player that helps you win without fancy stats and crazy plays, he has guts and I hope he stays here for years to come.
