Welcome home D'agostini

Honestly, kind of shocked to see him leave THIS soon. Guess Price is really the franchise goaltender after all.

Thank god he was moved to the West!! :S

I really hope we got a good return for him.

Actually, halak's value right now is sky high! I doubt it will ever be higher that it is at the moment, so what we got for him is as good as we would ever get...

I didn't expect him to get traded after the PO he had.
Need to go get a good veteran like Turco or Biron to play with Price.

Oh no! Don't make it so. Please Backes, not Perron.
100% agreed, Perron here will not work. But I know it's Perron, I just feel it. Quebec guy.. it has to be.

I think making a Halak appreciation thread would be ridiculous considering the whole league has been praising him so a new thread would be redundant. lol Thanks for the run jaro. Good luck in st louis.

If it is true, it could open the door for a couple of more deals.

Less shocked than I thought I'd be.

Halak was great, but did demand a trade earlier this year. Price never did in the same situation later in the year.

The magic was great while it lasted, but the concern with Halak is: can he do it over a full year? The Philly series likely got them thinking.

Cap wise, one had to go. No amount of rationalizing escapes that math.

Shocked to see it happen, but it makes some amount of sense.... IF they got a good return.

i said it all along. halak didnt want to be here. did not show interested in staying here. asked to "play more" (aka trade plz). and even if we didnt trade him, he would of made everything possible to get 1y deal, which would make his trade value as good as huet was, pending UFA. and if we decided to go that route, would of been very exp(IMO plz respect)

im sure he will have a great career, but price is the future here

What the ???

Weird timing... the return HAS TO be really enticing to explain pulling the trigger so soon...

edit : Backes would fit in nicely ; If it's Perron, I'm gonna cry...

Halak has not signed with Blues, Halak's agent Allan Walsh just told me. Walsh also said Habs never once contacted them after season
From Pierre Lebruns twitter.

I don't know if I believe Walsh. I don't see why Habs WOULDN'T contact him once?
Unless it was settled, Price is their boy.
