I'm glad they are both okay. I know how he feels when driving though, cars put me to sleep... even when I'm driving. Kinda curious, what does he drive?
EDIT: Nevermind, it had a slideshow. I'm kinda surprised with all the money he gets that all he has is a Land Rover. Even Gagne has a Lambo.

He drives a Range Rover. Here are the pictures of his car:

As far as the question of a deceased player under contract, my recollection of the CBA did not specify death; however, it could fall under the umbrella of the description of "unfit to play." At that point, the club can add a player and the replacement salary could exceed the upper limit provided the NHLPA and NHL approves. That is my understanding though not a guarantee.
Yeah, you can tell the truck jack knifed and hit them from behind, from the look of it. He's lucky it didn't jack knife the other way... woulda gone head first into it...
Flyers forward Danny Briere escaped serious injury this morning when his SUV collided with a tractor-trailer near Binghamton, New York, police said.
Briere and his 9-year-old son Cameron were headed north on I-81 about 12:30 a.m. just north of the Pennsylvania state line.
Briere, driving a 2010 Range Rover, was passing a tractor-trailer when he became drowsy and drifted into the right-hand lane, said Sgt. Steven Barlow, spokesman for the New York State Police.
I-81 must be uniformly awful for its entire length. ive driven 180 miles of it in VA, and its horrendously boring, mountainous, and loaded with tractor trailers.
my job entails monitoring all traffic events in VA. after 10pm, if anything major happens, its usually on 81, and usually involves at least one tractor trailer
Glad he's alright. Especially happy his son wasn't hurt.
The Flyers had a draft pick name Barry Tabobondung who was driving a grader with his son as the passenger. The son fell out and was in the path of the moving machine, the father jumped from the vehicle and saved his son's life; the father was killed instantly.

The whole Briere "Survives" Car Accident freaks me out. It's good to see that Danny and his son are alright.
I didn't mean to freak anyone out. I originally titled the thread "Briere in Car Accident," but I figured that would freak people out even more, so I put "survives." Guess it was misguided.

It's fine. That is the term used in the opening paragraph.
I know it's ****ed up, but when I first heard it jack knifed, I thought "Oh thank god he's so short then." When I was back in high school, there's a big industrial park across the street, and some tractor trailor jack knifed and the other dude got beheaded. Actually now that I think of it, good thing Briere drives an SUV, as that other guy was driving a tiny car that slid right under..

The science teacher's son on my team at school played hockey with the son that was with him. She mentioned this to me at school when she got a text about it today and said he was in the Rover so there was a lot of car to crash around them because they are both tiny. Based off of the pictures of the car it seems to be an extremely lucky crash that the front is almost untouched compared to the back.
