Eller is our best forward prospect since...?

Let's here some opinions on how he ranks vs our forward prospects of the last ten or so years.

And how do you think he compares to Leblanc?

He's our best prospect since Subban. He's much better than Leblanc.

Honestly, what is so great about Eller? 2 goals in 7 NHL games or his 18 massive goals in the AHL?

6'1 192lbs ? Meh...

It was his 1st year in NA for him, and was 2nd best scorer of his AHL team and even played 7 games in NHL recording 2 goals.

He's by far a better player we all think. I drafted him in my keeper league, so I follow him alot! He's very very good at both ends, and very good offensively. He's not a sniper, but can surely get 25 goals in the NHL.

People compared him to Peter Forsberg in term of gameplay. He's NOT the next Forsberg, but he's the same kind of player. Not overly big, but very strong on his skates, can play on every positions at any occasions (PP, PK...), and can get around 70-80 points.

I'd say at least since AK.

Hey, you know why AK is decent in the NHL... Development in the AHL. Hey, you know why Patches doesn't seem ready at all? Yeah...

Hopefully Eller is given some time before everyone puts the weight of the world on his shoulders. I guess, welcome to the machine is an appropriate greeting for Lars.

Since sidney crosby..
then he wont score in his first 10 games
and we will call him a bust

seriously IDFK, most ppl DFK they just assume based on his stats.
im still pissed we let halak go.

we gave one good player for 2 maybe ok ones...

All I can hope is hear halak wanted omg 5 million per season not a penny less.

Time, will resolve everything.

atm im pissed.. in 1 year I may be Halak who? and omg ELLER, im a ''girouette'' and happy to admit it.

From the best fantasy site: http://www.dobberhockey.com/index.ph...gus&Itemid=102

3. Lars Eller. Aside from Jordan Eberle, Eller might be the most NHL ready prospect not in the league right now. He is big, strong, physical, solid defensively, boasts a terrific shot, and he sees the ice very well. He isn’t overly flashy, but he projects as a very capable second line center. He is a lock to make Montreal this fall – expect him to start off on the third line, but that could change if Tomas Plekanec is not re-signed.

I've heard him compared to Daniel Alfredsson.

It shows.

I suggest taking a break from HF, catching a breather, maybe eat something and lie down for a bit. Others will see you as a big baby and will lose respect. And reading your posts on here for a while, I'd say you're on the side of the respectable bunch.

Right now, there's lots of us that are sad Halak is gone, but the return will be shown in full effect in the future.

It sounds like we dealt for a younger Plekanec. Two way player, not a huge goal scorer, play making skills, team guy. Hopefully he isn't allergic to the Flyers.

I'm not sure why some of you are so down on Eller. He's a very good prospect..projects better than Berglund (who had a down year last year). He's an excellent two way player and I believe in a few years he'll be a 65-70 point guy. As a Blues fan I'm not disappointed in the trade but Eller was one of our top prospects. I hope he can thrive with all the pressure in Montreal. That would be my only concern. I think it was a fair trade given the Blues now have to shell out $4.5-$5 mill per year to retain Halak. Don't forget that you guys also got Palushaj from us for virtually nothing..this might have something to do with the trade today. Just my 2 cents.

Even Halak is saying (tsn conference call) that This is the best decision to keep only one goalie for them ( referring to MTL)

He has the same ppg than Ben Maxwell in the AHL, but Maxwell is scoring more goals. They also have the same height and Eller is just a year younger. Both are supposedly good "two ways" players...

Just saying...

Only difference I see : Eller is bigger and takes more penalties. So I hope stats don't tell everything, because I don't see anything impressive there.

Makes me think of Peter Regin (the way he plays from videos and such).

I'm pretty stoked about that!

Thanks for some analysis.

Wish I (and others) knew more about Eller.

Eller also had a bout with Mono at the beginning of the season. This explains his very slow start.
