When was the last time a team without a single European won the cup?

Pretty basic question. Cant decide if it would have been in the 80s or earlier or if by some coincidence it would have happened more recently. Also considering the fact that some Scandinavians played (Kurri in the Oilers dynasty) before the cold war ended anyway, and I don't know when exactly that started, I really can't guess.

Anyone know?

yep. and in 93 they had one european (oleg petrov) who played 2 playoff games.
