Florida at Greenville 3-19-05

Greenville lost 2-0, only putting 18 shots on goal. I think Florida is just simply a better team right now. Greenville didn't help themselves much, once they only had four guys out on a faceoff and another time called for too many men. Maybe that's what happens when you have a bunch of new faces and an extra forward playing (only five D).

Lines
St. Pierre - Ziedins - Shields
Ferguson - Pepperall - Caron
Barch - Pitirri - Brenk
Kojevnikov - Kovalcik

St. Pierre was grabbed and twirled in the air by Hornby, skates over head. They called it holding, but it was the most specatular hold I've ever seen. I'd call it cartwheeling.

Caron sure hits like a Mack truck. He seems pretty one-dimensional to me though.

Brenk played really well. He's easy to spot, just look for the long skinny legs. He snuck into the zone several times with the puck, but was always well-defended. Florida's defense is stiffling, including Hnidy and Fast (names people would know). Brenk was surprisingly strong on the puck for someone who looks so light.

Morrison made a lot of saves, but had some bad moments too. Again he tried to clear the puck and it hit someone and bounced back to him. On the first goal against, the intial shot was from the circle. He gave up a rebound which was put back in over him as he sprawled to the other side. The second goal was a heartbreaker, it came from the goal line and he didn't tighten up to the post enough and it hit his shoulder and rolled in. Ouch. As usual, the comments in the press suite were amusing. Reporter to TV guy: "Did you get that?" TV guy: "I got it better than he did."

Oh and Ferguson fought Shane Hnidy, but it was short-lived and Hnidy landed on top of him.

What did you think of Brenk's speed??? Also, do you think that Caron is ready to step up and be a 3rd/4th line AHLer next year??? And lastly, where's Radunske??? Is he hurt??? His production has tailed off as of the past 10-15 games. Thanks, Bryan

Brenk's speed was good, otherwise he wouldn't have found himself alone in the zone.

Third and fourth liners need not to hurt you. I don't think Caron would hurt you, but there might be someone better out there too. He doesn't seem to make a strong case for himself other than in the hitting department.

On Radunske, someone on their board said he was ill for this game, but I don't know for sure.

Radunske has been hurt (not sure the injury type) for the past few games. I stopped by the morning skate on Friday and saw that he was getting treatment. He came out as practice ended and skated and shot for awhile..but definitely was not going at 100%. Wouldn't be shocked if it was a slight groin pull.
