Shelley vs. Peters

Shelley controlled the fight. Peters landed a good blow at the very end, but absorbed some stiff shots throughout. I like how Shelley was throwing little jabs with his left hand that was clenching Peters' jersey. It was very effective.

Also, worth noting they both took unsportsmanlike penalties right before this. This fight happened right after they came out of the box.

Peters with a nice right at the end, but Shelly dominated that fight. Not a bad tilt.

Rangers fans are taking a shine to Jody. Much more so than Huggy Bear, heh.

Jody has no hockey skill and is slightly painfull to watch but the man gives a great effort and the 4th line has looked pretty good as of late...Nice and cheap no problems inking him for another year

Nice right by Peters towards the end but Shelley won that fight.

I was at this game. A great game i saw.

It was all Shelley that fight. Peters barley took him down at the end but Shelley rolled over him. It's Shelley's win on that one

Hard to really say if Shelley won the fight... it's been Peters tactic for some time now to kind of hide his face away from the other fighter so he doesn't take a good one to his face. Then he'll unload as hard as he can and either:

A: Fall Down.
B: Turn away and try again.

So it pretty much always looks like he's not winning unless he lands a big one.

Shelley certainly looks like he controlled it but I can't tell if its just Peters's terrible way of fighting. Decent shot landed at the end by Peters but blegh.

Peters is pretty crappy as a fighter and certainly worthless as a player.

Shelley has decent hockey skill for a HW enforcer. He was a decent player in junior hockey scoring 25 goals in 58 games his last year in the Q.

Peters is the biggest joke of a fighter in the NHL. He was passable when he first started with Buffalo, but for the past few years he's been exclusively just grabbing on and putting his head as far away as possible. He's a tool.

I will never understand how hockey fans can consider someone to lose a fight when they put the other guy down with a right hand.

Just like boxing. Just because a guy gets knocked down once in the fight doesn't mean he will lose the decision.

You both make some valid points, however all the punches Shelley threw didn't match the one Peters landed IMO. Neither of those guys was terribly impressive.

If that one punch was so devastating, Peters would of been on top of Shelly at the end of the fight.

Neither of those guys delivered anything approaching "devastating." Shelley threw a lot of benign punches that amounted to very little and Peters landed the only solid connection. Nothing impressive, again, in my opinion.
