Shelley controlled the fight. Peters landed a good blow at the very end, but absorbed some stiff shots throughout. I like how Shelley was throwing little jabs with his left hand that was clenching Peters' jersey. It was very effective.
Also, worth noting they both took unsportsmanlike penalties right before this. This fight happened right after they came out of the box.
Hard to really say if Shelley won the fight... it's been Peters tactic for some time now to kind of hide his face away from the other fighter so he doesn't take a good one to his face. Then he'll unload as hard as he can and either:
A: Fall Down.
B: Turn away and try again.
So it pretty much always looks like he's not winning unless he lands a big one.
Shelley certainly looks like he controlled it but I can't tell if its just Peters's terrible way of fighting. Decent shot landed at the end by Peters but blegh.
Peters is pretty crappy as a fighter and certainly worthless as a player.
Peters is the biggest joke of a fighter in the NHL. He was passable when he first started with Buffalo, but for the past few years he's been exclusively just grabbing on and putting his head as far away as possible. He's a tool.
If that one punch was so devastating, Peters would of been on top of Shelly at the end of the fight.
Neither of those guys delivered anything approaching "devastating." Shelley threw a lot of benign punches that amounted to very little and Peters landed the only solid connection. Nothing impressive, again, in my opinion.
