Two titles, two MVP's

Both BC and Michigan won their respective conference titles today. Both Brian Boyle and Jeff Tambellini named tourney MVP's.

BC was shorthanded due to injuries to Eaves(both games), Gionta (title game) and Harold (both games).

Brian Boyle picked up the slack, scoring the first goal of the night last night, ending a +1. Then he scored the first goal of the night Saturday night AND the go-ahead/game winning goal. Then he was named the only all-tourney forward not from UNH. And the capper to it all? He was named the tourney MVP. They will likely be the overall #1 seed for the tourney. I can't WAIT for his next two years.

I like this quote:

"I don't think I should be MVP. I think the guy sitting next to me [goalie Cory Schneider] should be MVP. Tournament MVP Brian Boyle

It's in the Notebook on the far right, under Quotables.

pretty selfless...a sign of a good leader...maybe we should put him as a candidate for the the kings captain thread?

It's a shame that Tambellini wasn't named one of the finalists for the Hobey Baker Award. He has been playing great this season, and playing out of his mind over the past month. Definitely Michigan's most dangerous weapon on the ice right now. He's now tied with Hensick for the team lead in points. Great to see him rebound this season after the ole sophomore slump.

Today it's just a great day.
When I woke up and saw what Danny and Tambs did last night I felt really good...just like the Kings would have won against Colorado

Way to go kids!

It's pretty impressive all right. It makes that 2003 draft look pretty damn good right about now. Brown, Tambs, Boyle, Pushkarev, Pirnes....

I agree... he did a nice job last season.

Plus, wasn't he like the first player to take penalty shots in consecutive games? lol he missed both times... but still, a cool thing to see.
