His stock was WAY down during the season, but has returned since the playoffs.

To be perfectly honest, I don't think they want to move Hartnell unless they need cap room for another player.

I don't really want him moved to be honest anymore. He showed his worth and what he can do when outside problems are not affecting him and especially when grouped with Leino and Briere. Also, we have a very easy cap space right now, even with Hartnell and Carter in the line up, considering the cap is supposed to go up 2M (I think).

not saying he will or should be traded, just wondering what it would take if he was going to be moved

Yeah, it's a No Trade Clause.

Anyway, I can't think of a single asset on the Maple Leaf's roster (within reasonable value) that I would want for Hartnell. I mean, the Leafs have Schenn and Kadri, both too much. They have Kessel, Phaneuf, and Kaberle, all of which either don't make sense, are too valuable, or a combination of multiple things. They don't have any high picks or futures we would want.

There's just really nothing on TOR.

I'd take Gustavsson, but I doubt Toronto would do it

I'll pass. Heart conditions aside, I don't really like his game all that much.

*This assuming we're moving a roster piece to get him.

People will change their opinions of Gustavsson after next season.

He made big strides after we got a goalie in Giguere that plays the same style.

He has the right attitude and the personality to be a big success.

I don't like him, I never did. However, I do believe he would excel behind the Philly D since he's great at just stopping the first shot and have the D clear the rebounds (since he's not that good of steering those away to good spots). A Leighton deluxe goalie, sort of.

The Synchronized Saving thing sounds intriguiging, but I'm not completely sold on any combination behind that defensive "line".

If Asham departs as an UFA, there is an increased need to keep Hartnell -- hopefully, the resurrected PO version that is. The team would lose two gritty types.
