I'm going with what will probably be (next to Smithson)the most unpopular vote: Legwand.

I've read things (don't remember where, take it with a grain of salt) that he is very vocal during practices, vocal in the locker room, and is very committed to helping out the younger players. Plus, he has been here the longest and as discussed in a thread months ago he basically IS the Nashville Predators.

But then again, none of us really know what goes on in the locker room or the relationships between the players and staff so it is anybody's guess in my opinion.

Nashville has a locker room full of C's just toss the C patch into the middle of the locker room and let them fight it out.

I think we may see Sully wear it this year. Beyond that, I think it's a tough call between Weber and Suter. I think it should be Suter, but I'm ok either way.

Why isn't Belak up there? Poile said he resigned him because is was great in the locker room and helping out the rookies. Sounds like a great captain and clearly Poile had the Arnott trade in mind when they resign Belak

It has to be Sullivan. I would then say it is Suter followed by Weber.

It should go to either Suter, Weber or Legwand. The old guard has had it's reign, time to turn the team over the young guns. Granted, Legwand isn't young or old but he's more on the older side.

Honestly, someone who gets overlooked could be a guy like Hornqvist. The guy battles every night and I can't tell you how many times I watched him get hacked and whacked while Arnott stood by idly. He's not my first choice but when a guy plays that hard every night and pays the price, it makes everyone else accountable.

All that said, it should be Weber and Suter's team at this point.

Anybody who doesn't think the "C" is shorthand for "cloaking device."

This.

People who seem to really know what goes on have said this has been Sullys team for a long time. With Arnott out of the way, this is the obvious choice. Suter or Weber will have it eventually, but they will not mind Sully wearing it for a year or two(yes I think sully might sign a one or two year deal after this year).

Hornqvist is too young/ hasn't been here long enough. I honetly think it'll go to Leggy, let's just hope he doesn't have another scoring drought.

1) He is Trotz's boy

2) He's most likely going to be on this team for the rest of his career.

3) A captain is not about who's the best player, if it is, the title of captain is a joke.

I think Suter would get it over Weber. I could see Sully being passed up on it because he is on the last year of what could be his last contract, or at least his last contract here, but if the team votes you never know. I'm sure there are a lot of guys in the locker room who feel like he deserves it even if it is a potential one-year thing

I am on board the Weber ship for captain as well!

Why do you think Smithson plays his whole career as a Predator?? I would think Weber, Legwand, and Wilson have better chances at being here for their careers. Smithson is over hyped IMHO

Smithson will be a Predator as long as Trotz or Poile are still here.

Smithson is on his final contract here. Too many younger bottom-six forwards moving up through the pipeline that add more to the lineup. I love Smitters, but he'll be replaced soon...

Sullivan should be the easy choice, but he only has 1 year left on his contract. Of course that didn't stop Timonen from being captain, so Sully is my choice

Sullivan leading this team will be like night and day compared to Arnott. Arnie was an experienced, veteran presence, lead from the bench kind of guy, while Sully is all heart, lead by example. He would make a terrific captain.

Not so sure Weber is ready yet. We're not like Chicago or Pittsburgh where we captain our young stars. Trotz captains experienced vets.
