5. Look for the Florida Panthers and Thrashers to be among the most aggressive trading partners with the Blackhawks as they try to move veterans. Florida GM Dale Tallon knows the Blackhawks well because he built the Blackhawks' roster. Atlanta GM Rick Dudley knows the Blackhawks well because he worked for Tallon. The 'Hawks undoubtedly would be interested in Florida's No. 3 pick or Atlanta's No. 9.

if we were to deal that 3rd overall to chicago, then it better be for one of the big two, kane or toews (which I know wont happen).

You're really shooting for that stars with that idea. Maybe if we had the #2 pick, but Kane and Toews are proven winners and excellent players.

I would give up 4-5 first round picks for Kane.

...and become as crippled as the leafs are now for the next 4-5 years?
im not saying 3rd overall straight up for kane/toews but something built around it for one of them. though i would not be happy with your proposal if it went through. 5(!) first round picks for 1 player is too much

4-5 first round picks for Kane, really? I would never ever even think about that, he isn't worth that much.

I know its a lot to give up but he is just a ridiculous talent. And imo the most exciting player to watch with the puck. Up there with Crosby and OV.

I would want Seabrook if we were giving them the #3 pick.

I don't believe Sharp will be moved. Strategy seems to be to keep strength in middle - Toews, Bolland, Sharp. Expendables are wingers.
