Seems very unlikely they resign MAB. He was a fill in under the circumstances. Time to move on and say thanks for any positives he contributed. He'll get a job somewhere, just not Mtl

BTw no I can't give you any "proof", by I swear it's true. So yeah, I guess Subban is a show in, and possibly Weber our 3rd PP specialist if we need one.

No idea, what happens in Nicolet, stays in Nicolet. And what happens while she's in Nicolet... yeah.

MAB filled a nice hole for us last year, but he was overexposed in the playoffs. If we did not have skill guys like Subban, Carle and Weber knocking at the door this year, I'd have no problem re signing him for 1 mil or less as #7.

Why can't they just trust O'Byrne, for crying out loud. I know he's not Bourque but he should have the right side locked in with Gorges and PK(have Weber/Carle as reserves).

Good, less of a chance PG is tempted to resign him.

They signed Darche to soften the "Habs are anti-french" rage for letting MAB go.

I'd sign him 1 year at the minimum to be our 7-8th dmen/17th forward.

We all know he has huge flaws and was overplayed in the playoffs, but that's not his fault.

He's a decent insurance in case of injuries and the fact he can play on a 4th line is an added bonus.

Some of you forget we wouldn't even have made the playoffs without him.

He would be a good addition to the team since he can play Defence and Forward.

Yes he can play both those positions, poorly.

He has a rocket of a shot. End of story.

IF a dual role player is required, Schubert would be a serious step up, both as a forechecker, and as a defenceman.

no way. I dout he is back and if he is, it will not be anywhere the money you are suggesting....

With Subban and Markov, Montreal does not need a PP guy...and that is all MAB can do......

All the more reason not to re-sign him!!! He's injured!! Plus he is BRUTAL defencemen too.

Walk away from him ASAP.....there are much better options than him and they can play defence too.

Should Markov or Subban get injured, there isn't much else we can use on the PP.

MAB is not useless, he's actually an useful player if signed at the minimum for one year. Worst case scenario we have to play him because of injuries and he can be valuable. Best case scenario he never has to play and sits on the bench all year (someone has to anyway, might as well be him).

i respect your opinion but im gonna have to disagree, you CAN separate markov and subban, or if you wanna have them together you can you have spacek and a foward at the point. We dont NEED MAB, not takin away that he helped us out last year. He did help us out, but again we got subban now, we can do what MAB did on the PP and a helluva lot more.

Eh I'm not gonna lose sleep over it if he's not signed. I honestly don't care about MAB too much.

I'm just glad someone admitted he helped last season. Because he did. Reading the posts on here you would think MAB screwed us out of the playoffs and was the reason we lost in the ECF.

Also, I'd not separate Subban and Markov. Markov doesn't like to shoot much, and likes to set up and is good at it. Subban has a great shot, good one-timer and would do amazing things with Markov setting him up. Plus, you want to put all of your eggs in one basket on the PP usually to get the best odds of scoring early with your best players.
