This begs the question: If it was so quiet, how did you hear about it?

not really. Rumours need an official source (ie Eklund *snigger*, Spectors, blah blah blah)

If by official you think it should mean Gillis or a Nucks official statement, well then it wouldn't be a rumour.

Why would this happen? What evidence is there that there might be a problem?

If Gillis said give me back the C, to Luongo, that might be a problem. Luongo's game did go off all at once, causing many (myself included) to speculate upon unannonced injury. What if there was something else, it would look the same, no?

If Luongo wants out, it's the death blow for Gillis' as GM. I find it unbelievable that this could be allowed to happen. Gillis has absolutely bent over backwards for Luongo, to the point of absurdity (Captain?)!

Were it true, it would be a disaster. The trade can't be made from a postion of strength. This GM doesn't have a huge roster of trading partners, if the deadline is any indication.

I suppose there should be some backlash from Gillis' oblivious handling of the deadline situation. I had hoped the Canucks might speak publicly (I'm talking about you, Shane!) about it, but I didn't expect any trade demands. Still, Gillis seems entrenched. If you disagree with his world-view and you are chasing a ring, it might seem untenable here.

I hope this is just a rumour.
