Anton Thun said that as soon as he got the news earlier this afternoon, Boynton grabbed his gear, hopped in his truck and began the drive to Boston.
Expect him in the lineup for the Thursday and Saturday games.
great, because I'm going to both games; I'm already psyched for Boynton and Jillson, Joe and Sammy, Zino and Bergeron; Stock and McCarthy- heck, this is an exhibition game I basically get stuck with at full price (they did give me two lodges though so that makes it a $35 tix which to see this and the Wings well worth it- thats a big WELL).
The only thing that stinks is I'll miss a few innings of Wake's win driving into the Fleece.
Personally I can't imagine a scenario where Jillson isn't in the opening day lineup. He has had a good to very good camp by all accounts, and the team WANTS him to succeed, and they need to show some return from the McLaren deal
good post. i never looked at it from the political view but you're right-it's in MOC's best interests to have jillson play and succeed.
Will he be ready to jump back onto the #1 pp unit to start the season or will the Bruins be using McGillis or Jillson there for some time?
boynton never played the #1 PP unit- the b's used rolston on the point with either berard or girard. my guess is that jillson or mcgillis would be the frontrunner for the spot, unless berard comes back.
The Score on Headline Sports is reporting that it is worth $3.3 million over two years, with an option for a third year at $2.5 million. Definitely a good day for me, Boynton signs, the Yankees lose, Potvin gets a shutout and finally got to pick up my copy of NHL Hitz Pro.
