I'm guessing Ranford will be let go?! I thought his contract was also up.

Yeah, I hear Cloutier will work for pennies on the dollar.

Good news all around.

For all you Murray haters, relax and just because he got an extension doesn't mean if the team tanks he won't get fired.

I wouldn't mind Tochett coming in and running the offence. Hated him as a King player but he seems to be a pretty good coach

Why did you hate Tocchet???

I loved that guy! Granato said that Tocchet was the best teammate EVA!!!

Exactly, Hitchcock got canned a month after Philly gave him a three year extension.

Melrose got canned only a few weeks into the season too after signing a contract with Tampa.

Maybe giving both Lombardi and Murray an extension will help with the FA on July 1st. They will now know that there is stability in LA for at least 3 years.

Kovalchuk likes stability.

Some of you people that are mad Murray got re signed are really showing your true hockey knowledge. So what you're saying is you're upset that we just re signed the coach who ended up 5th in voting for the Jack Adams award? Makes sense...

The only reason Murray was extended was because they wanted to sign Stevens to a 3 year deal. How would it look if Murray had 1 year left and Stevens was signed for 3?

I wouldn't be surprised if Murray does not finish his extension.

Coach of the year in almost every sport means nothing.....its almost an award for having a good GM. It always goes to teams that go from horrible to respectable, not coaches that keep good teams on top.

Thanks for updating the title Tony! Nice to see that we signed Stevens and he has the same contract as the rest of the guys.

Right, and the coaches have nothing to do with that eh? So why do coaches get fired if their team is doing bad? Why not just fire the GM instead?
