I said it back in september and I'll say it again now; upon retirement of my 94 home jersey, it will be a home Del Zotto jersey replacing it. Love this kid.

Working out with Gary Roberts, wears number 4 in respect to Bobby Orr, and sites one of the best "all around" defencemen of all time, Scott Niedermayer as who he models his game after.

Very interiguing.

Let's hope he can polish out his own zone play next season. I loved the physicality he showed at times, and he could certainly end up being one hell of a defenseman.

I have no doubt, MDZ will come storming out of the gate next season. Gary Roberts work-out regime did wonders for Stamkos.

I'm furious why couldn't Karlsson win when he only played 20 less games then MDZ. Although really I don't know why you guys seem so bitter towards Ottawa fans because they think Karlsson will be better. Both sides are obviously biased and when two players are so close to each other, it shows up more. And I'm not even saying that Karlsson is better or will be better because honestly I probably only seen MDZ 10-12 times this past season. On the other hand I watched 66 games with Karlsson in Ottawa's lineup. So its really not fair for either side to judge who is better or will be better.

I seriously don't think this would have even been mentioned if Karlsson made it over him because no one would have cared. It's like ok, great. Both are going to be great players. Don't see the big deal

The -20 is concerning, but I'm looking forward to a great year and career from the kid.

I see Tyler Myers on that list and first thought who's that till i realized its the big kid Sam and Joe drool over.

Its like they dedicate a 10 minute segment to him EVERY time we play the Sabres. They need to get his stick out of their mouths.

i feel in order for del zotto to really take a big step forward in becoming a better defenseman is that he needs to improve is overall skating. there were times last year that i felt he was moving slow out there. if he improved his speed even a little he will become that much more dangerous from the back end.

Im happy for MDZ He derserved it!
Im looking forward to his second season as a blueshirt because i think hell have a breakout season. After the summer-training with Roberts hell be stronger on the puck and on his skates. And hopefully he isnt every time on the ice when the opponent scores (@ his -20)

Maybe you should start watching hockey other than the Rangers. The kid is a hell of a player. There are also a couple of other good players in the world that aren't in NY.

I don't think he was dissing Myers, just the fact that he hoped that Sam and Joe wouldn't ride him like a rodeo show this season. That's not a slight on Tyler, I've heard people say worse about the coverage Sid gets, on this very board.

Del Zotto was a deadman skating at the end of the year. That jump into the NHL is much more demanding than a lot of young players realize so I'm glad he took off ice conditioning seriously. Hopefully he gained some muscle mass as well b/c he plays a physical game and will need to be bigger. All in all, he's one of the more exciting rookies in a long time.

And is that ex-Devil Bergfors on the all rookie team with him, you know the one tossed in the Kovalchuk deal?
