I like how it's presented... Like a threat.... Oilers are negotiating with us but if Sather doesn't bend, they'll slap us in the face with an offer sheet. Trade us his rights OR ELSE!

Didn't Oilers management recently come out and say they are done offer sheeting and going the free agent route?

I advocate (might be the only one) Bourque + Gilroy + 40th pick for Savard.

Girardi + Redden + 2011 4th for Souray (yeah right, i know )
Edmonton actually seems like they could use some more defensemen. Outside or Souray they only have Whitney, Gilbert, Smid, and rookie Chorney. They also have young Theo Peckham who has 30 NHL games in the last 2 seasons. Not sure if those 2 youngsters are good enough they'd want to stick with them though.

I know. Who would want Redden? It's a matter of them wanting Girardi enough. My admits this is ridiculous.

I would get rid of him in a heartbeat, the guy is so clumsy, misses pucks makes so many mistakes, not worth the sallary. If we can get a 2nd or 3rd round pick or prospect i wouldint hesitate, maybe even cogliano.

Would the Oilers really offer sheet someone on Slats team with his ties to the Oiler organization?

I would love it if the oilers offesheeted girardi. The swift and exacting retribution slats would rain down when a Taylor hall offer sheet became an option would be well worth it

Guy posted an update:

Quote:
1) We have clarification on the Rangers-Bruins rumor from the other day. The Bruins have called the Rangers trying to unload Marc Savard for Matt Gilroy and a 2nd round pick. Even if the Rangers do not take this exact deal, the Bruins still have an interest in Gilroy.

7) Finally, there is no more word on the Oilers interest in Girardi, but word is they are also high on P.A Parenteau.
That's it for the Rangers. Nothing major. IDK why Sather didn't jump on that first offer though, if it's even true.

If Girardi could fix his skating (which is fixable) he could be a very good top 4 guy. Maye not top 2 but still...

I like the guy and I think he still has room to grow but if an offer is a good we gotta take it.

Did you read any of the other posts in this thread? This guy has negative credibility.... Just a 19 year old blogger looking for website hits.... Disregard all of it....

One of the best set up men in the league with the most cap friendly contract and all the Bruins would ask for is a 2nd round pick and Matt Gilroy who couldn't even stay in the line-up due to poor play?

Oilers high on Parenteau?

Well, to his credit, the Bruins have no room for another center and need a salary dump. Getting only Gilroy back would free up some space.

You almost have to give these bleacherreport characters credit. They've created this veneer of legitimacy and continue to fool people into thinking that they are an actually news source.

that guy has got to be full of it because there is no way glen sather passed on marc savard for matt gilroy and a 2nd round pick. there's just no way in hell he would not make that trade.

They're not going to trade their first line center that they just signed to a long-term contract just for a salary dump.
