That's okay... the local channel from Barrie showed the whole team practicing it after a practice one time... alot of the guys were pretty good at it.

Oh for sure... no doubt about that.

They did the feature after he scored the goal in their skills competition, and I had no idea why they were all trying that until I saw the hi-lite the other day.

i suppose after a bit of practice, one could pull that move off pretty consistently and get a shot off. but still, to see it at full speed on a breakaway with a goalie not knowing that shot is coming...is just sick....i am looking forward to seeing that one at the end of the year as one of the plays of the year

Link doesn't work for me...but Hisey's goal

from the Colts skills competition is a thing of beauty and creativity in its own right - that Legg goal from a some years back is still a classic as well although Crosby duplicated that feat not to long ago during an Oceanic game. Guessin' it would be harder pull that move off during the course of a game - or would it.

Well... it wasn't really fullspeed during a game... it was in the Barrie Colts skills competition.

well...that's about as fullspeed as that move can get, if it was attempted during a game at 100% game speed, he'd probably get flattened.

Point taken...

I've gotten links to this video about 6 times in varrying emails, and some of the stories about how it happened are crazy...

In one of them it was the game winning goal in some random championship game...

Just wanted to make sure the situation and context was known.

plus the announcer (darren dutchyshen?) says its from the colts skills competition, and it would be a funny championship game if there were pucks randomly laying around too hahaha.

i wonder if they all tried that move during that competition though. one good idea suggested in teh thread on the NHL forum is a "trick" competition, similar to a pool trickshot competition or the NBA dunk competition, during the allstar weekend. i think its a great idea.

Not all of the videos have sound though... which makes for some interesting stories and scenarios....

But I like the trick shot idea... or even something like horse...

yeah, something flashy and exciting would make the allstar weekend just a little bit more watchable, and letting guest judges judge it or something, i dont know how they would do it, but if they got the idea, it would be damn sweet.

and especially exciting is that with Robbie Schremp, the Oilers could be a perennial contender!

Schremp was pulling that move off 3 years ago when i played with him in Syracuse. Don't get me wrong , it was nice, but to hockey players that not something that crazy. My personal fav, was when Rob shoots the the puck top shelf from behind both legs.

I have seen high school players with not a hope of making the NHL pull off Schremp's 'lacrosse-style' spin goal from last year.. no one's calling these guys out as gods, but it's still an incredible sight to see.. kind of like a nice dunk - a lot of players can do it, but it's still great to watch.

As i said nice move , but nothing that great. Rob's dangles are what really impressed me.
