Man, we might see a lot of action today. I think Bieksa will be gone as well, and we'll probably be acquiring some more picks along the way.

I've heard that Anaheim and San Jose are in the running with Vancouver for Ballard

I heard Alberts + our 1st rounder
Bernier + our first rounder

So who knows!

4.2 is an AMAZING contract. Not to be undersold. I would be estatic with this so long as it does not involve Raymond.

He's signed for 5 years at a 4.2mil cap hit and salary per year. Would probably be worth over 5mil per on the open market.

Adding a guy who can play on the top pair and is signed from 27-32, prime years for a d-man, would be fantastic!

Also, you would have to think this would lead to Bieksa being traded. Ballard would basically take his money. If this happens I won't be surprised to see Bieksa traded for some picks.

Ballard for our 1st would be a steal.

If they want Alberts they can have him, if they want Hansen I will be sad to see him go but he goes.

Ballard + 36th pick for Hansen +Alberts + 25th?

Is adding that 36th pick too much?
I suppose I wouldn't mind the 50th pick either...

Ballard + 50th overall for Hansen/Bernier + 25th.

If we can trade Alberts instead of Hansen or Bernier, I'd be ecstatic. Though I have no idea why Florida would do that.

Ballard's what you hope the guy taken #25 turns into in ten years.

People are overrating the 25th overall pick if they are hesitant to trade it. Sure its great to draft someone, but getting a good player under contract long term is better.

That player is at least 3-4 years from helping our team. We have 3-4 years to make a push with the age of our core players.

We need help now.

We need quality D-men right now.

Do you honestly think the Panthers are going to trade Ballard to move up 11 spots? There's no chance of that.

God, Ballard has wrecked a lot of people with that hip check. I'm pretty pumped right now.
