What do you think we could get if we trade Grebs rights?

Spot on, but with Parent instead of "cheap ufa."

I'm fine with it. I'd like to have Grebs back, but i'd also rather use that 3 million bucks toward offensive help.

Unlike with Hamhuis, teams I think have been more reluctant to make a deal for Grebs without discussing an extension first. Grebs must be qualified at $3.1 million and isn't really worth it based on his performance last season. I'd love to have him back, but acquiring him is a sunk cost and I'm not willing to see the team pay him $3.1 million next season just to save face...

Likely looking for a late 2nd round pick or early 3rd as a return...

Obviously not alot of interest in Grebs if the Preds are letting his agent to look around for action---no doubt due to his high cost as is pointed out. We'll get way less than the #48 overall that we gave up for him if I were to guess.

Interestingly, if the information I read about Hammy is true, the Preds didn't inform him he was going to Philly until the deal was done, but that's the difference between a highly coveted FA and an overpriced RFA in Grebs.

And I thought I was scared with last year's D corps...

I guess if Blum wins the Calder we'll be ok

I still think Blum makes it and makes a much bigger impact than Franson did this season. I thought Blum was better in camp.

Uh oh, we're starting to agree more these days. I think Blum has looked good in camp the last few years actually. Shame he hasn't made it til now but I think he has a good shot at sticking this year.

We won't be making any UFA additions to the blue line, unless you count Nolan Yonkman.

I agree. We have Blum, Sulzer and Jonas Anderson and Romi Josi and Teemu Laasko and Parent and Franson competing for 2 spots. Why should we get someone of the scrap heap

I still contend Franson is gone, Sulzer is in, Blum comes up part way through and never leaves. If I keep saying Franson is gone long enough will that make it come true? I think he's nice value to use as part of a trade to get a forward. Trade before exposed.

Well, it's worked with me for Johnson, Houlder and Arnott so go for it.

There's no way Blum doesn't make the team this year. He's legit. So he may play with Klein, while Franson plays with Cube? Or Parent and Blum trade minutes depending on what Trotz wants that night maybe.

That leaves several solid prospects out. Poile needs to swing a trade this summer. We need a big forward who can score banging around goals (so teams can't key on killing Hornqvist) and will work for food.

Poile wants to get a 2nd round pick tomorrow.

Maybe he get one for Greb, and get back to zero.

But probably not, since Poile already told the media he may not even qualify him.

Grebs didn't look great on the otherwise fearsome Oilers defensive unit last season...

no, he is a ufa now. rumors of khl. was offered around 2.2 by poile before he went UFA. who knows...he still might be back. talked to him last year, and said he wasnt interested in playing in khl, but that could have just been smoke up the arse. he is in russia at the moment though.

I would really like to have Grebs back as our "veteran" defender if we can get him for 2.2 or a couple hundred more. I like his play. Loose and gambling but could add more than enough to our goal totals. And Trotz and co. I think would turn him into a better defender. He has the skating skills, he just has to want to do it. Apparently the league doesn't agree with me if Poile couldn't find any trade at all at the higher dollars he would've needed to be signed for.

He is absolutely not a veteran, he wouldn't fit that capacity at all.
