22 year-old prospects that haven't cracked the NHL just don't have the value. Would've been better off holding on to him if the return is what I expect it will be.
My bad, but the point remains the same. Even though these guys are "experts" who do this for a living, they make plenty of mistakes. Several of these highly touted Clark picks will bust. It's only a matter of time.
While they do make mistakes as well, this is just the card that people play when the Rangers don't do what they think is the best thing to do in their amateur GM brains.
A large part of it was due to the fact that the Rangers really have no room for him right now. McDonagh is the better d-man, and if another rookie d-man is going to make the team this season it's going to be him, not Sanguinetti

You know Jon, the more I think about it, the more I like the pick. We really just have to take a step back and look at him for what he is, and what the Ranger management imagines he'll become.
From the times I've seen him, I always saw him as a player who has the ability to become something more. He's a leader, he anchors the Warriors, he is their all-star.
We haven't had a player in this mold for a LONG time, and we just took the greatest prospect of his mold that anyone has seen in the last 5 years.
Fear is a big deal, and in the toughest junior league in the world, he brings more than anyone.
