Nice to see a thread about the Union. How's the team playing? And when will the new stadium be ready?

Opener at the new stadium is June 27th.

The team's play thus far can best be characterized as self-destructive. With the exception of the Seattle and LA games, they've generally gone out and controlled possession for at least the first half of every game. Then, they'll do something to shoot themselves in the foot...red card right before half, ill-advised backpass...take your pick.

Good news is that they're able to string together passes and spread the field wide better than a lot of MLS teams. Bad news is that the quality of the finishing (Le Toux being the lone exception) has been pretty poor.

It was awesome, the place went crazy when he scored.

The MLS really has to do something about the game ending in a tie. No extra time, no PK's, nothing. It was so ****** to see us tie it up like that then the game be over on the next kick.

They used to, and soccer fans decided it wasn't real soccer.

Union players wore Flyers tee shirts out on the field before kickoff.

Bit of bad luck for the Union. The 2nd goal was terrible defense after a great save. Mwanga got another goal to make it not terrible.

I tuned in for the second half and it turned out to be a fun game to watch. MLS, at least the few games I have seen, is far more exciting than the World Cup imo.

I just think it's easier to cheer for Philly teams than for USA teams.

Turned it on about 25 minutes in. Was a very fast paced game, seemed to play to the Unions favor.

Gold uniforms just do not work. Everyone looks like they're naked.
