I don,t think etem or bennett were anywhere near the top on DL's list from that comment late in the interview, lets hope hes right especially since the ducks took him and we will see him 6-8 time a year.

I heard it as He was telling ownership that He was building the draft and that the free agents were placeholders while the system was stocked.

Most important thing I took from that interview was the fact that he thinks the Kings are ready to take the next step in terms of free agency/trade. This does not bode well for the 'it's not the right time for Kovalchuk' crowd.

When he first was brought in, he wanted to go full rebuild but AEG was hesitant and they went with the hybrid rebuild, which in the end was the wrong thing to do. After year one, AEG stepped out of the way and let him do things his way.

He said he told management that adding players was not the way to build a team but they wanted to toe line line of being competative.

Did AEG make him sign the players he did to the contracts he did? Why does he need to even say that? It had zero merit in the conversation. He voluteered that at an awkward moment in the conversation.
