Flyers qualify all RFA's

http://www.csnphilly.com/06/28/10/Fl...63&feedID=6572

Quote:
"Qualifying offers to all of our RFA's were sent out some time ago," Holmgren said.

Dan Carcillo, Darroll Powe and Braydon Coburn are all restricted free agents. This is notable today because we've reached the deadline at which teams must offer RFAs deals in order to maintain their rights.

...

Also on the Flyers' restricted free agent list: Josh Beaulieu (F); Rob Bellamy (F); Matt Clackson (F); Jeremy Duchesne (G); David Laliberte (F); and Michael Teslak (G).
No surprise on top, surprised most of the rest got QO's.

I'm okay with Coburn, Carcillo, Powe, and Laliberte.

Why are Duchesne, Teslak, Clackson, Bellamy, and Beaulieu there?

I don't want them back.

We have to have someone to play for the Phantoms.

We've already filled out our Phantoms roster. Those guys are the ones that SHOULD NOT get playing time. If they still get playing time after Holmgren went through all this effort to revitalize a tired and complacent Phantoms' roster, then some heads need to role.

None of these guys should beat out any player currently under contract and set to play for the Phantoms next season.

Yeah, those last 5 shouldn't be here.

I'm not sure it's saying they were all offered QO's is it? It just says that those guys are on the RFA list.

Homer may very well mean "all RFA's from the FLYERS." At least I hope he does. I'd be OK with keeping Laliberte but not the other Phantoms.

It says qualifying offers were sent to all RFA's.

I don't see any reason to believe that means anything other than all RFA's.

i thought the same thing.

at first i was like.."oh, duchesne, i recognize him."

then i thought harder, and realized i only recognize him because his name is similar to some dude in NHL95

edit: powe seems to have one skill..going really fast, and then running into someone. but damnit, i can kind of get behind that,

Hard not to like a guy who busts his ass almost every shift.

You have to love it though. He does nothing but smash the other teams players all night. The record of the team with him in it is quite staggering. I really wouldn't want to be a D with him playing against me

meh Powe is a good 12th/13th forward, he can PK, hit and occasionally score. Hes not gonna cost much, no reason to hate on him

Powe's fine, every team needs their inexpensive foot soldiers. Very effective forechecker that often goes unnoticed by fans, but not opposing defensemen.

Against the Bruins Powe was one of the guys out there wearing down Chara, and at times beating him in battles.

Powe was great throughout the playoffs. In the finals, he was hitting the small fast Hawk D that Asham couldn't get within a stick's reach of.

He's a keeper for me, a perfect 3/4 line player.

He is perfect for his role. Coaches love having guys like him, as is evident with both Lavvy and Stevens.

Surprised to see Bellamy offered. He's playing in an Elite A league near where I live, they must really like his development there haha

Philly.com (sorry no link thought it would be on here already) says ex Flyer Ryan Potulny was cut loose by Edmonton today no qualifying offer.
Probably the Wild would pursue him, but he might be a nice player for the Flyers who could slide up to a top roll if (when) injuries occur. Probably would cost just under $900,000.
