Tabata
Walker
McCutchen
Jones
Doumit
Alvarez

I like that lineup alot. Jones and Doumit are 29 and the other 4 are all 25 or younger.

Didn't watch the game as have been busy last few days. Not a bad start for my boy, pitching against Yankees in your debut and getting a W. Sahme he got the W though lol. Worrying part is that he walked 4 batters. I've said this before but I'll say it again - if Arrieta can get his control issues under control he'll be O's 1# starter, he has higher upside than Matusz or Tillman.

He's facing Giants in San Fran tommorow and Joe Martinez who was called up to replace Wellemayer.

On a side note: interesting that Bumgarner didn't get a call with Wellemayer injured.

I think it's 'cause Bumgarner just started getting his velocity back and there's a chance it could all fall apart.

I think they'll bat him fourth. Batting him sixth would be a death sentence. He would never see a pitch to hit; Milledge and Cedeno offer no protection at all. I do like the lineup, though. For once, I'll be able to say with a straight face that the Pirates' offense could be legitimate. When Brad Lincoln's on the mound, that's 7/9 of the order that can hit, which is progress from the two that I expected at the beginning of the year.

It's a good time right now if you're a Pirates fan, all the best prospects are with the team and they've drafted well the past 2 years. Taillon and Stetson Allie were great picks. Neal Huntington has done a superb job with what he's had to work with.

There's a good amount of hope right now. More than I've had at any other time. I actually have positive thoughts about the future of the team.

Madison Bumgarner could be starting tommorow against Red Sox and Buchholz

I love USA's pitching: Hellickson, Dan Hudson, Shelby Miller, Scheppers.

Is Poreda going to be a starter or reliever for the Padres?

I guess now that he's in AAA, he feels like hitting the strike-zone.

It depends whether he can get his control issues sorted out. He's pitched out of pen all of 2010. Padres do have couple young arms with potential to go along with Latos and LeBlanc. Smart money is on pen.

JP Arencibia is mashing it in AAA for Las Vegas

After a tough first AAA season he is hitting

.400/.488/.835 with 9HR's in the month of June

Hitting .303 with 17HR's and 44 RBI on the season.

Still striking out around every 5th AB but he is starting to get quite a few more walks this season so it balances out a bit.

Before anyone breaks out the Las Vegas is a hitters friendly ballpark.. he is hitting .358 on the road...

Seems like the Jays serious depth at catcher has sparked him going again.

Dominican outfielder Edwin Moreno—one of the top 16-year-old prospects eligible to sign when the international signing period begins on Friday—has tested positive for the anabolic steroid stanozolol, according to several sources in the Dominican Republic, including his own trainer.

Moreno's trainer, Victor Baez, confirmed that Moreno and three of his other players—power-hitting third baseman Hector Veloz from Santiago, lefthander Emmanuel DeJesus from San Francisco de Macoris and lefthander Eduardo Ramos from Mao—all tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs.

Baez said that all of the players tested positive for stanozolol, an anabolic steroid commonly sold under the name Winstrol, but he said their use was unintentional because the drug came from an over-the-counter supplement that did not list it as one of the ingredients.

Jays prospect Kyle Drabek pitched a no-no

Quote:
Coming off four straight losses, New Hampshire's Kyle Drabek wasn't thinking no-hitter while warming up on Sunday.
"All I knew was my arm felt great," he said. "That was the main thing for me. That helped me go the whole game."

Drabek pitched the first nine-inning no-hitter in team history as the Fisher Cats blanked the New Britain Rock Cats, 5-0.

Despite those recent struggles, the 18th overall pick in the 2006 Draft has not yielded a hit over his last 13 1/3 innings.

After going 2-3 with 2 HRs last night, Jesus Montero goes 3-3 tonight. .420/.540/.720 in the month of July.

Chris Carter hit his 24th homer of the season, earlier tonight.

A's ought to call him up now, move him to the outfield, and option Carson back to AAA.

Lost in the Domonic Brown hype but Marlins called up top 1B prospect Logan Morrison. He played left field today and went 1-4. He had a .307/.502/.925 in PCL.

Jeremy Hellickson getting a callup and starting tommorow. Apparently he is only going to get 1 start and then head to pen.

John Buck onto the DL for the Jays. Do we get to see JP Arencibia?

So far in AAA this year, .303, slugging .639 with a .998 OPS. All that to go along with 31 homers. Any chance he's the guy getting the call?
