Not so sure he wouldn't have been available later on... Obviously the scouts see something here.

Could have had Kabanov, went one pick later.

Terrible pick given some of the other players still available.

I was hoping we would have taken Jordan Weal.

Los Angeles took him.

That's something we can discuss four or five years from now...

A Russian who was a healthy scratch in the QMJHL for the last bit of the year... Sutter wouldn't draft him in the last round with the last pick.

Reinhart went from being ranked 157th in the draft at the mid term rankings to 79th on the final report. Hopefully he can continue that trend.

Bob Mackenzie said that Kabanov had top ten talent, and the only thing holding him back was his attitude. I would have used a 3rd round pick on that.

I likely would have drafted Kabanov based on our needs for talented offensive forwards. Attitudes can be changed and players can mature, but you can't teach talent. Oh well, them's the breaks, and it doesn't surprise me at all considering it's Sutter .

Honestly, I know nothing about Leach or Reinhart, but since this was the part of the draft Sutter and Button had been preparing for, I am going to trust their choice.

This is probably our best pick of the draft. The kid has gotten better every year he has been in hockey. There is nothing wrong with that. He was the second line center on the Ice team when he was 17.

I didn't get to watch Day 2 so it surprises me that he was available. At the end of the day he is still "too small." I would have liked to pick him tho.

I like what I'm hearing about Reinhart, apparently he's a good playmaking center. I'm interested to see what he can do next year.

Kyle Beach has an attitude problem. Kabanov was sent home from his junior team in the playoffs, then sent home from the Russian U-18 team in the middle of the tournament, then was dropped by his agent because it was impossible to deal with the kid and his dad.

So yes, the only thing holding him back is his attitude in the same way that a lack of work ethic was the only thing holding back Pavel Brendl.
