Clearing salary? Brashear and his $1.4 million cap hit remain on the cap with a buyout. Buying out Rissmiller and Voros will also count against the cap when they could be buried in the AHL and take zero cap hits.
This really looks like kovy if they really buy them out. None of these buyouts is gonna get us more cap space for the season (we could easily send them to the ahl), assuming however that redden gets waived, our limit will be the 10% extra during the offseason. I don't like neither singing big free agents this offseason, nor having dead cap space for two years.

VOROS is gone yess ! he can take his 300 autographed photos of himself i have with him lol. Does anyone think that he wore out his welcome with his drunken texts and twitter non sense? The giving out of Hanks phone number and license plate numbers might have pissed off the management. He deleted the account right after wards and not been heard from since.

The other option being if they buy them out now, they save money that can be applied towards free agents on Thursday, rather than waiting until the start of the season to send them down.
This is like the 3rd time Voros has been waived, and every time he has passed through waivers and not been assigned to Hartford. I'm not sure we're rid of him yet... he always manages to stick around like an unwanted party guest. I know Lundqvist and Avery are BFF with Voros but his on-ice play doesn't warrant him getting another chance.
Meanwhile, it's amazing how much Patty O'Sullivan has dropped off. I'm sure some team will take a chance on him, but that's a lot of money for a floater.
