So what's the deal with Price? Maybe they are looking to bring in Coburn?

They literally just got Ellis and they have months before it becomes necessary to sign Price. What's the rush?

They did just trade off the guy who took them into the 3rd round of the play-offs for some decent prospects . . . they might want to show some faith in Price by signing him early and giving everyone some confidence.

How many RFAs around the league have been inked so far? It's been like a week since they dealt Halak. In that week we've had the draft and the run-up to free agency. Combine that with Price's sudden increase in leverage and methinks Montreal's front office has bigger fish to fry. I'm not sure what confidence people would get from signing him that they don't already have from shipping out the competition anyway.

Dude, call up Gauthier first thing in the morning. We have only one day to get this done.

I'm just saying . . . people were NOT happy when Halak got shipped out of town and recent interviews with the GM have not been about giving Price the keys to the starting net position. Now they bring Ellis in who could potentially be the starter on opening night. It's just PR stuff, but sometimes it matters.

I like him, but there's definitely better options out there.
Yeah... but like... is it kinda **** up if I want Ellis just so that we can piss off Montreal?

OH REALLY????

"Philly has an unbelievable defensive core," Hamhuis said. "To join a core like that makes the Flyers one of the tougher ones in the league. To play against the teams from the East, the conference has a lot of great forwards, and watching the playoffs, having a great defense will get you a long way."

It's a generic hockey response. See Mike Richards before his issues with the media this year.

Didn't he go to the Kings or something? Is he still even in the league?

I do to. He is overrated and I am tired of hearing about him.
