The lack of belief in Greiss is astonishing.

No, wait. Sharks fans generally have always been wishy-washy and flighty so it doesn't surprise me, I guess.

I wish he weren't a Shark no more. Better than what is coming.

As a Hawks fan I would not suggest Lalime

He is slow and has terrible puck awareness

His poor play when Khabibulin got hurt in 08 pretty much cost us the playoffs ,,, Near end of Khabibulin's time out Corey Crawford was playing in net because of how poorly Lalime was doing

i would try to make a deal with Vancouver for Schneider. Maybe go after Mason from St. Louis or Tim Thomas, but it's not a long time bet.

I'd see Ellis as a guy who can be an NHL 1a starter but he's not going to win a cup as a starter and the only reason he's an NHLer is because of the oppurtunity in Nashville (Think:Scott Clemmensen). I think Mason has the potential to be a better option for San Jose, and has a higher probability since Halak is now a Blue, the only detractor is probably his asking price. I'd also like to see what Niitymaki could do if he signs for around a million. And below is a list of my desired goalies for the Sharks

Do Want:
Mason (Played well, only issue is $)
Niitymaki (Played well behind bad defense)
Vokoun (Not Likley)
Trade Goalie

Do Not Want:
Ellis (Behind stacked defense, overrated)
Turco (Old, lost his game, too much cash)
Leighton (Crapped out in cup finals, probably a fluke)
Toskala (Too Crappy, probably won't rebound)

eh, it feels bad saying this but the lowest $ option is the one i pray Dw takes. Because I fully belive in the greissatron. You don't almost win olympic games under luck, something nabokov has yet to do.

I believe he has stated that he wants to be a stater next season and bigger paycheck than what he had in TB. If Sharks could sign him around 2 million (don't know if that's too much for them) he could play around 45-50 games and Greiss could play the rest. Does that sound like a good plan for you?

I have been away from these forums for the better part of a month, and the first thing I see when I come back is someone suggesting Patrick Lalime as an option in goal??????

The Nabby hate in this thread is ridiculous.

Not to worry.

Many Sharks players are often villified right up to the point they leave. As soon as they have gone, though, their reputation flies up towards holy (excluding a few, read: Belfour, Ed; Campbell, Brian etc). Guys like Ehrhoff, Lukowich and Rivet spring to mind of late. Got some severe stick while here and now they've gone..., well!

Nabby will be given rousing support now his days in teal are over, especially when we hit a rough patch next year. If Clowe is traded, the same will happen.

We're just a very flighty bunch as a general rule.

According to ERIC DUHATSCHEK:

Quote:
Goaltending will be another matter altogether. With just three teams the Philadelphia Flyers, Sharks and Tampa Bay Lightning realistically in the market for a No. 1, many of the free-agent goalies are going to have a hard time finding work. The expectation is that the soon-to-be ex-Sharks starter Evgeni Nabokov will land in Philly, the soon-to-be-ex Dallas Stars starter Marty Turco will land in San Jose, and the Lightning will continue to search for a bargain, possibly settling on the soon-to-be-ex St. Louis Blues starter Chris Mason.
