Yeah, the TSN report contradicts that...and in any event, I'm sure at this point Ellis and his agent have already told the Habs that they're planning to test free agency. It would be stupid for them not to at least see what other offers they'll get.

Sounds good to me, it'd be a bad idea to cheap out on our backup goalie as if Price struggles or gets hurt having a guy like Ellis will be huge.

I think you'll be surprised at the answer, considering the stance you have. No way in hell I'd take Leighton over Ellis, most Flyers fans were/are hoping for Ellis to sign with them too.

I'd do it at 2M. Not perfect, would be better if he would sign for cheaper, but Carey Price could have a hard time this year. He could also be great...but we just don't know. If he's not that good, we will need someone to do the job. I think Ellis would be a great safety net. Therefore, paying more for some security wouldn't be a bad idea. I hope he'll sign.

Me too.
Then again, Price is not officialy a number one goal tender. So maybe the second guy will have to be very good. Hence Ellis with his 2 mill.
