He's too small for our team next season.

I'd take him in a heartbeat. At worst you dump him at the deadline for a 2nd or 3rd. At best he pots 15 goals on the 3rd line while hitting and and being the spark this team has needed for awhile now.

We have missed Torres' style for a few years. Getting Dawes would help that immensely.

If we all agree that Dawes really has no long term future in Edmonton then the question to ask is who will Gagner/Eberle/MPS/Hall/Hemsky ect benefit more from, a strong physical player or another 15 goal, 30 point undersized player that most likely needs PP time to have success?

Not exactly sure how Edmonton gets labeled as having the most knowledgeable fans.

He's not a bleeder at ES. He can skate. And he's not soft.

You want a crusher in that 3RW spot? Why? There's little chance this team escapes without picking up an enforcer to share sorties with Stortini.

Guys like Dawes bring very little return at the deadline.

+1

Try Zero! Any team can take him right now if they want him. Calgary would have traded him if they could. A 7th round pick in the year 3077, or the naming rights to one of the Octo-mom's babies....anything.....but no.

At 850k, he will get picked up for sure.
He's short but he gets into those gritty areas and is hard to knock off balance.

i'm a little shocked they waived him...

it would be tempting and he would be good on the fourth line, but that's about it...

with jones/stortini/jaques we probably dont need him but who knows, i think we are getting dj king tomorrow for souray as well... so...

I've always love Dawes. At that price we might as well take him just to bring him to camp and see what he can bring to our club.

You think the Brewer deal is solid?

He's also kind of an interesting option in that Renney has already coached him with the Rangers, so I wonder if Tambellini will ask Renney if Dawes is a player he'd like to have on the 3rd/4th lines?

Renney would have coached Dawes with the Rangers, so he'd have some idea.

Remember the good old days when everyone wanted to trade Torres for Dawes.
