How did DR not beat that mentality out of you?

...nvm. Thinking about it, I get worked up about FA as well. Doesn't matter how many times I get disappointed.

I should have said "any keener to play here than anywhere else". That bit about him wanting to go to a team that's a shoo-in for the playoffs, not just having a chance to get there. He also went out of his way to include interest in every team. Hey, it's just a feeling I get--I think he'd have more problem playing second fiddle to Mikko than Saku would. I would also like to hear his definition of a situation where he feels he would "fit" the best. I'm not saying it won't happen; i just think he isn't that stoked on the idea.

Eh, I don't think he cares about being on line 1 or 2. I think he just wants to be where he can be happy, have fun playing and be used the right way...and of course get a fair deal.

It really seemed to me that was what he cared about most.

He only beat the trade deadline out of me.

BRING BACK FOZZIE!

I thought he re-invented himself as a lefty and wore #45 for us last year

Fletcher did say he had a deal on the table at the draft, perhaps is contingent on a free agent signing? I'm a little wary of Martin at this point though, he didn't look all that good after returning this past year, though prior he was a legit top-pairing guy. Should be interesting to see, obviously GMCF wants to compete, as seen by the deals during last season.

BRING BACK FOZZIE!

I was surprised to see they wanted a higher pairing D-man instead of a low-end guy to push the young guys in camp. It makes you wonder if they have their doubts about Barker, or if they really do plan on doing what they can to trade away Schultz.
