@TSNBobMcKenzie: PHI was told from the get go by Nabokov that he plans on going to July 1 UFA as he will have multiple options including the KHL.

Multiple options? There was a thread on here showing that only Tampa and Philly had starting spots open, right? I may be mistaken.

Anyhow, not the Sharks worry. Good luck, Nabby.

I find it astonishingly hard not to believe a KHL team hasn't got something lined up for Nabokov. Regardless of how we may feel, he's still a world class netminder and brings credibility to their league.

Committing to a salary over here that could be half of what he would get in Russia makes no sense - just has to hang on a week.

I doubt his Kentucky wife would want to move out of the country.

Whatever happens, I just hope Nabby ends up in the East. If he goes... why not get something for him. 7th is better than nothing.

The Sharks got nothing out of this. This was a move to let Nabby start talking at least to one team before the July 1st deadline.

hope he signes with the flyers for a ton of cap hit;

1) sharks don't have to play against him much
2) cap hit forces them to move cap space out, hey we have cap space...
3) he'll be on a contender, good for him, not sure how good it is for the Flyers

Don't forget the Flyers still have the Pronger factor.

Oh, he'd stand a much better chance of success there than here.
